34. Why Conservation Matters to Civilisation

Civilisations inherit more than information. They inherit material evidence of how people saw, built, worshipped, protested, decorated, imagined and remembered.

Conservation keeps part of that evidence available for future interpretation.

Conservation is not the preservation of perfect stillness.
