Curiosity Needs Better Questions
“Why?” is powerful, but children can learn more specific question forms: What changed? What is similar? What evidence do we have? What would happen if…? How could we test that idea?
Observe
To observe is more than looking. It means noticing relevant details carefully. Observation vocabulary helps children slow down before explaining.
Predict
A prediction is a reasoned expectation about what may happen. It should come from a pattern or evidence, not random imagination.
Evidence
Evidence is information that supports or challenges an idea. It can come from a text detail, an observation or a result.
Compare
Comparison helps children notice patterns and differences. It is useful in Science, English and everyday decision-making.
Hypothesis
At an introductory level, a hypothesis can be explained as a testable idea about what may happen and why. Keep the concept concrete and age-appropriate.
Discover
