Tuition | Yunfu

Three students sit around open books and worksheets at a classroom table, reading, writing and discussing the work together.

Tuition in Yunfu should help a child discover what a difficult question is actually made of. A learner may memorise an algebra method but fail to recognise when the same relationship appears in a design problem. Another might know Science vocabulary but be unable to explain the cause of an experiment’s result. Extra exercises are helpful only when they target the problem beneath the mistake.

For Yunfu families, the city’s 2026 school entrance examination totals 870 points, but the points are not all straightforward written-paper marks. Science operations, English listening and speaking, earlier Geography and Biology, and Physical Education all have defined roles. This guide explains the local framework and a practical diagnosis-first approach to Mathematics, Chinese, English and Science tutoring. It borrows the immutable premium 3-pupil teaching method from eduKate Singapore; it does not claim eduKate runs a Yunfu tuition centre or lawfully bookable classes there.

Yunfu’s official 2026 exam: what makes the 870

On 6 February 2026, the Yunfu Education Bureau published the official 2026 examination and senior-secondary admissions arrangements. They establish 870 as the maximum counted score, after applying the subject-specific weights. Chinese, Mathematics and English contribute 120 each. The English result is split between 90 written and 30 listening-and-speaking points.

Physics contributes 100 points including 10% for experimental operations. Chemistry is a 100-point paper converted to 80 for admissions, with 72 points from written work and 8 from experimental operation. Morality and Rule of Law and History have 100-point paper maxima but are each counted at 70%, giving 70 each. Physical Education and Health contributes 70 after its 70% conversion.

Biology and Geography, assessed earlier in eighth grade, contribute 60 points each following their 60% conversion. Biology’s 60 includes a six-point experimental component, with the rest drawn from the written assessment. Music, Art and Information Technology have separate grade-based outcomes that do not simply add further marks to the 870 total.

These values sum to 870. Their roles are not interchangeable: an independently assessed oral-language skill is different from a written reading task, and a laboratory practical cannot be mastered merely by copying a model paragraph. The parent should check the child’s precise cohort and prior school records before deciding what to practise.

The 2026 admissions route is not the same as a tuition promise

Yunfu’s official plan sets separate early, ordinary-high-school and vocational-school application batches. They include authorised 3+4 integrated vocational-to-university places, approved special-talent places and both allocated-to-school and standard high-school places. Each route has its own application requirements and official selection process.

The city requires provincial-grade public senior-secondary schools to allocate 50% of relevant places directly to eligible junior-secondary schools in their region, with appropriate consideration of weaker or rural schools. This is an education-system distribution mechanism—not a course that tutoring companies may sell or guarantee.

In 2026, the published admissions range generally directed the participating Yunfu city schools toward Yun城区 and Yun安区, with other county and city public schools largely recruiting within their own jurisdictions, apart from authorised exceptions. Families in Luoding, Xinxing, Yunan, Yun’an and Yuncheng should use the correct regional school requirements.

The official 2026 admissions plan also states that school admission depends on examination results, comprehensive-quality assessment, candidate preferences and the school prospectus. It prohibits unauthorised early admissions and using private training-organisation examinations as substitute school selection tests.

Parents should distinguish studying effectively, meeting official eligibility requirements, and deciding which school preferences to file. A tutor may help with the first, but has no authority to override the other two.

A precise diagnosis protects a family’s study time

Two students can receive a similar Mathematics mark while having completely different problems. One child is comfortable calculating areas but mistakes a one-centimetre border for a reduction of one centimetre in the overall dimension rather than one at each end. Another models the border accurately and simply makes a multiplication error.

An effective tutor starts with the student’s actual marked work and asks for an explanation. What did the question require? Why was that first method chosen? Which representation would make the quantity visible? Offer a simpler question and then alter the context. If the idea disappears after the question changes, the tutor has found a transfer problem.

A useful diagnosis is specific enough to test: ‘Can calculate an area’s dimensions when they are given, but cannot work out the new inner dimensions after a border is removed.’ That is a teaching goal. A vague label such as ‘weak in Mathematics’ does not tell anyone what to fix.

Mathematics tuition: geometry through a Yunfu stone-panel problem

Yunfu’s stone-working traditions provide a memorable invented geometry setting. A rectangular panel measures 12 units by 8 units. A decorative border one unit wide lies inside the rectangle. What area is occupied by the border?

The outer area is 96 square units. The inner rectangle measures 10 by 6 because the border removes one unit from both ends of each dimension. Its area is 60, so the border has area 36 square units. This simple problem can reveal a student’s interpretation of geometry, arithmetic and measurement units.

Turn a diagram into algebra

If the border width is w, the inner dimensions become (12 − 2w)(8 − 2w), subject to a physically possible w. The child should explain the twos before expanding any brackets. That meaning can make algebra much easier when an unfamiliar question uses a garden, wall or framed picture.

Fractions maintain a connection across years

Three quarters of 48 equals 36. But 36 is three quarters of what whole? Four equal parts must be reconstructed: one quarter is 12 and the whole is 48. A secondary student writes 3x/4 = 36. Both are the same relationship. A pupil who memorises the forward multiplication without whole–part understanding will often struggle with the equation.

An algebra mistake may be a language mistake

Four identical prices plus one six-yuan handling fee amount to 30: 4x + 6 = 30. If the fee applies to every item, the model changes to 4(x + 6) = 30. The learner must read ‘one fee’ and ‘per item’ accurately before computing. The best tutor checks the model, not just the answer.

Checking is a skill: use plausible estimates, clear square units, substitution where appropriate and reread what the question actually asks. A wrong model needs conceptual work; a correct model with arithmetic slips needs a checking process.

Science tutoring: the experiment is an argument about evidence

Yunfu’s Physics, Chemistry and Biology practical contributions make an important principle visible: knowing the name of an effect is different from knowing how to test it. A student may remember a classroom demonstration perfectly but be unable to explain which factor caused the result.

A fair-test question about water

Suppose a pupil asks whether water temperature changes how quickly a fixed quantity of sugar dissolves. The student should keep sugar amount and form, water quantity, stirring and container conditions comparable while changing temperature. What should be measured? What if several conditions change simultaneously?

The tutor should ask the child to explain why a comparison is fair, what observation would support the prediction and what further evidence would be helpful. This is reasoning that transfers among scientific subjects.

Observation and inference are different claims

Saying that a sample changed colour is an observation. Saying a particular chemical process caused the change is an inference requiring sufficient evidence and context. Similarly, a graph’s slope is meaningful only in relation to its axes and units. A child who can distinguish these stages is better prepared for novel Science questions.

A safe classroom discussion can use drawings and data tables. Practical operations involving specialist apparatus or chemical materials should remain with qualified supervision in an appropriate school setting.

Chinese and English tutorials: the reason matters as much as the answer

A reader may know the words in a passage without being able to infer the author’s purpose. A writer may have an interesting idea but fail to support it. Language competence is a connected system of vocabulary, sentence meaning, paragraph structure, evidence and expression.

Evidence-backed reading

Give the pupil a short passage about a maker choosing whether to repair an imperfect panel. Ask what the text explicitly describes, what attitude is implied and which phrase supports the inference. Then change the passage so the pupil must select different evidence.

English listening and speaking require actual practice

In Yunfu’s 2026 framework, 30 points of the 120-point English result come from listening and speaking. Play a short unfamiliar announcement about a changed meeting time or venue, ask for the main information and invite a clear retelling. Provide a second message without a transcript. The aim is listening to meaning, not memorising the first recording.

Writing begins with a claim

A useful paragraph contains a claim, a relevant example and an explanation of why it supports the point. Ask the student to revise for clarity and purpose before decorating the answer with complex vocabulary. These habits also strengthen History and civic explanation.

The exact local or international school curriculum determines which assessed language skills matter most. A tutor should identify the actual learner’s syllabus rather than offer identical English worksheets to everyone.

What the immutable eduKate Clementi small group teaches

The canonical Secondary 1 Mathematics Tutor Clementi | Small Groups Tutorials is eduKate Singapore’s stable reference for premium three-pupil Maths tuition near Sixth Avenue MRT. The method is diagnosis, clear teaching, focused feedback and independent transfer. It does not claim any eduKate teaching premises in Yunfu.

Imagine three students attempting the stone-panel exercise. One subtracts only one from each inner dimension. Another finds the inner area but forgets to subtract it from the whole. A third produces 36 but writes linear units instead of square units. A tutor who hears all three explanations can locate different gaps and correct each with an appropriate changed question.

Small group size creates the opportunity to see how each learner thinks. It is not a guarantee of results. Parents should look for participation, accurate corrections, independent work and an ability to explain the same relationship after several days.

Repair, maintain and extend need separate teaching goals

  • Repair: rebuild the earliest missing prerequisite, then reconnect it to present schoolwork.
  • Maintain: use spaced retrieval, mixed practice and checking to stabilise adequate understanding.
  • Extend: challenge strong pupils with alternative solutions, better experimental designs and stronger arguments.
  • Reduce: if a learner works consistently without hints, reconsider whether recurring tuition adds value.

Families in Yuncheng, Yun’an, Luoding, Xinxing and Yunan may have substantially different school travel and home routines. A nominal ninety-minute class may displace much more time once transportation and follow-up work are included. A focused educational gain is more useful than simply being busy.

Commercial tuition and legal responsibilities

Mainland China’s Double Reduction framework restricts and regulates commercial academic-subject tuition for compulsory-education pupils. The label ‘small group’, ‘homework coaching’ or ‘tutorial’ does not provide a legal exemption. The student’s age, course, provider, teaching mode and schedule can all matter.

Before buying a proposed Yunfu service, confirm current national, Guangdong and municipal rules, lawful provider standing where applicable, teaching credentials, fees, refunds and safeguards. School after-class services and commercial tuition are not identical legal arrangements. The Ministry of Education’s policy provides background and does not certify a specific provider.

Frequently asked Yunfu tuition questions

Is Yunfu’s 2026 exam total really 870?

Yes. The official 2026 Education Bureau implementation rules total 870 after converting the specified written and practical contributions. Do not add experimental-operation scores again if they already sit within a subject’s contribution.

Do English listening and speaking count?

Yes. The 2026 scheme includes 30 points of listening and speaking within its 120-point English result. A learner needing support should practise fresh spoken messages directly.

Does an allocated-to-school place guarantee admission?

No. The 50% allocation mechanism operates through authorised school plans, candidate eligibility, exam results and filing procedures. Tuition cannot guarantee a place.

Should earlier Biology and Geography be ignored?

No. They contribute 60 points each to the relevant counted total and support later Science and reasoning.

Does eduKate run classes in Yunfu?

No Yunfu eduKate location, local enrolment or bookable academic class is claimed. The three-pupil reference belongs to eduKate Singapore.
