Eureka Day Singapore 2026: SRT Tickets, Showtimes and KC Arts Centre Directions

Singapore River view toward Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall in the Civic District.

Singapore Repertory Theatre’s Eureka Day runs from 18 November to 6 December 2026 at KC Arts Centre, 20 Merbau Road. Performances are generally at 8pm from Tuesday to Saturday and 2pm on Sunday. Sunday 29 November has an additional 6pm performance.

The 100-minute comedy follows a school board whose efforts to agree come under pressure. Standard tickets are listed at S$48 to S$78 depending on date and category. The S$28 youth rate is a separate offer for eligible performances. Check the dated booking and the advisory for mature content and coarse language before buying.

  • The Wednesday 18 November preview starts at 8pm. Preview prices are S$48 or S$58.
  • Regular Tuesday–Thursday and Sunday seats are listed at S$58 or S$68. Friday and Saturday are S$68 or S$78.
  • Sunday 29 November is the only date specifically listed with 2pm and 6pm shows.
  • Use Fort Canning MRT for the Robertson Quay venue. Allow time to be at the theatre 15 minutes before the performance.

Which Eureka Day performance should you book?

Use the SRT event calendar for the exact performance. The date range covers several weeks, and the usual Tuesday-to-Sunday pattern is a guide to the published schedule. The opening preview has a different price from regular shows. The additional Sunday evening on 29 November is an option if the usual matinee does not suit you.

Compare the finish times

The SRT FAQ gives a running time of about 100 minutes. An 8pm start would put the approximate finish at 9.40pm. A 2pm matinee would finish around 3.40pm and a 6pm show around 7.40pm if it runs to time. Add time for the audience to leave and for your route to dinner or the station. A restaurant booking across the river will need more margin than a nearby stop.

Choose the start that fits your group

For colleagues coming from different offices, the evening can be simpler if you set a meeting time at the theatre. For a Sunday plan, an early lunch before 2pm avoids having to leave the restaurant halfway through a meal. The 6pm option on 29 November fits between an afternoon outing and a later dinner, provided everyone can reach the venue before the seating deadline.

Check what else is listed on the date

SRT lists related events on its main show page. Read whether an event is part of your booking, separately registered or attached to only one performance. If you are coming because of a discussion rather than just the play, confirm the time and whether it changes your return plan.

Eureka Day prices, youth tickets and Culture Pass

SRT publishes separate rates for the preview, regular weekdays and Sunday, and Friday and Saturday nights. The S$28 youth price is listed for Tuesday to Thursday excluding the preview. SRT lists the age cutoff as 25 and below and requires proof of eligibility. Check the booking and identification instructions before choosing that rate. A headline youth rate is a poor basis for budgeting a Friday booking or buying tickets for people who qualify for different rates.

Compare the exact order

For two people buying regular Category 2 seats, the listed base amount is S$116 on a Tuesday to Thursday or Sunday performance and S$136 on a Friday or Saturday. Read the final cart for fees and availability. If sitting together matters, look at the actual seat map before choosing the cheaper date. A pair split across rows can make less sense than a different showtime with adjacent seats.

Using SG Culture Pass

The show is marked eligible by SRT. The event page also lists a S$50 Category 1 promotion for an exact purchase of two tickets on selected dates, including 22, 24 and 25 November. Read the specific offer and checkout instructions. If it is unavailable for your date or category, compare the regular price. Confirm any credit use and final amount before paying.

For an access or group booking

If someone needs accessible seating, call or write to the venue before paying. SRT has a separate venue access page with arrival and wheelchair information. Share the date and assistance you need. For a larger group, use the organiser’s group enquiry details rather than assuming the cart can assign everyone to the same row.

What is Eureka Day about?

Jonathan Spector’s play takes place around the board of a private school in Berkeley, California. The members try to work by consensus. When a health incident divides the community, they have to make choices even though they disagree about how decisions should be made. The comedy comes from the gap between the board’s good intentions and the increasingly difficult conversation.

Watch who defines the question

A useful way to follow the play is to notice which characters try to settle the wording before they settle the decision. Someone may think the group is discussing how to include every voice while another person is trying to decide what can be done that day. That difference helps explain why a conversation can become funny and uncomfortable at the same time.

Listen for shifts in the room

Try noticing who speaks first, who changes the subject and what happens when a quiet character interrupts. The play can be enjoyed as a comedy without knowing anything about US school boards. For a post-show conversation, compare which character you understood early on and whether that view changed. Friends may have watched the same meeting and noticed different pressures.

Is it a children’s holiday show?

SRT rates the play Advisory for some mature content and coarse language. Check the full admission terms and use the advisory when choosing for younger viewers. If the group wants a family pantomime instead, Monkey Goes West at Funan has its own age rules, runtime and schedule.

How to get to KC Arts Centre from Fort Canning MRT

Set your destination to KC Arts Centre – Home of SRT, 20 Merbau Road, Singapore 239035. Fort Canning (DT20) serves the area. Follow the current street directions towards Robertson Quay and Merbau Road. The theatre’s name can be confused with Fort Canning Centre in the park, so check the address if you are arranging a ride.

Plan the last leg

Allow time between leaving the station and finding your seat. SRT asks audiences to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start. A plan to reach the MRT at 7.45pm is therefore tight for an 8pm show. If your group is coming separately, send the full address and agree where to meet near the theatre. The header photograph shows the wider Singapore River in the Civic District. Use Merbau Road for the actual venue.

Food, entry and a late arrival

The event rules exclude outside food and drinks and prohibit recording during the performance. Have dinner or a drink before joining the audience if you want one. SRT says late entry may be allowed at a suitable moment. If delayed, follow staff instructions. Build in room for the walk, a toilet stop and ticket checks before the performance.

Post-show discussions and live subtitle glasses

Which performances have a discussion?

SRT advertises discussions after the show on 25 November and 1 December. They connect the themes of the play to how people handle disagreement in settings such as work and education. Check the show page for the current event details and plan to stay longer if you want to attend. A group travelling together should agree in advance whether everyone will stay. Use the play’s advertised finish as a guide for those leaving at the end, and allow extra time for anyone staying.

How do you reserve subtitle glasses?

SRT offers live subtitles through wearable AR glasses, with limited units and advance reservation required. Use the form or access contact on its event page rather than assuming the theatre will have a unit available at the door. SRT notes that the subtitles are AI-generated and may have occasional errors or delays. If the support is important, confirm how to collect the device and whether your chosen seat or arrival time affects the arrangement.

Choosing the performance that suits you

The lower youth rate and a post-show discussion can overlap on some dates, but each has its own terms. Start with the feature you need most, check the dated performance, then choose the appropriate ticket. If a group has mixed eligibility, each person should be ready to show any proof needed for their own rate. A Sunday matinee may fit travel better than a weekday discussion if the group needs an early finish.

A question to take into the theatre

Think of a meeting in which everyone agreed on a goal but disagreed about the decision. During the play, notice when the board’s usual way of making decisions begins to change. Afterward, compare which moment each person considered the turning point. That can give the group something specific to discuss without having to agree with the characters or one another.

Planning Eureka Day as a date night or group outing

Two adults with a free weekday

Compare the 8pm performances on Tuesday to Thursday and open both ticket categories. The regular price difference between those two categories is S$10 per person. Look at the actual seats and see whether the cheaper pair is together. Arrange dinner near the theatre rather than across town if you need to be seated soon after work. Use the 15-minute arrival advisory when setting the time to leave the restaurant.

A group coming for a post-show discussion

Check 25 November and 1 December before committing to a particular date. Give everyone the same event link, so they can verify the play and the associated discussion. Set a meeting point for anyone who leaves before the discussion begins. If the group wants to keep talking afterward, agree whether to stay nearby or head directly for the MRT. The optional extra should be part of the travel plan, particularly for anyone relying on a final connection.

Comparing a Sunday with a Friday

On the published standard rates, a regular Sunday Category 1 seat is S$68 and a Friday Category 1 seat is S$78. Sunday also starts earlier. Friday may suit a group that wants an evening out after work. Compare the whole visit, including how much time people can spend together before or after the show. If an offer changes the price, read the conditions at checkout and confirm that everyone in the booking qualifies.

If a member of the group is delayed

Share the exact address at the beginning of the day, because a late arrival cannot count on walking straight into the auditorium. Keep individual ticket access organised if the party is entering separately. The rest of the group can find their seats and reconnect after the show, using a place named before the phones go silent. A short walk from the correct station matters more than the distance to an imprecise map pin.

What to check when leaving Robertson Quay

Work out the last useful connection to your destination and account for the walk to Fort Canning MRT. If the group stays for a discussion, update the expected departure separately. For taxi or private hire, use the venue’s current arrival and pickup guidance. When arranging a meal or ride, give people a window rather than promising an exact finish.
