The Singapore Botanic Gardens Heritage Museum is in Holttum Hall at the Tanglin end of the Gardens. NParks lists museum hours of 9am to 6pm, with closure on the last Monday of each month. Use Tanglin Gate if you are coming primarily for the museum.
Holttum Hall is a conserved two-storey building dating to 1920. It formerly housed the office and laboratory of botanist Eric Holttum. The museum’s exhibits cover the history of the Gardens, so the building itself is part of the story.

Find Holttum Hall from Tanglin Gate

What to notice in the building and exhibits
From outside, look at the symmetry of the building and its roof. Inside, start with a question about the Gardens’ history and look for a display that answers it. Children can pick one date or object and explain what it tells them about the people who worked there.
Plan a visit around the museum timetable
The Gardens and the indoor museum have separate hours. Check the museum listing if you are coming on a Monday, and allow enough time to see the exhibits before closing. For an outdoor stop nearby, use the map to find the Koi Pond Mural at the Botany Centre.
