EduKateSG ULD System

Universal Learning Diagnostics Framework

EdukateSG ULD (Universal Learning Diagnostics) is the diagnostic engine inside EdukateSG Education OS. It exists to detect why a learner is stuck, drifting, or failing — even when effort is high and time is spent.

ULD is not “more practice”. It is diagnostics first, then targeted recovery.

What EduKateSG ULD Is

ULD is a closed-loop learning diagnostics framework that can:

  • detect learning plateaus and hidden failure modes
  • classify the type of breakdown (not just the symptom)
  • prescribe a recovery pathway
  • validate the recovery worked (closing the loop)

In simple terms: ULD tells you what is broken, where it is broken, and what to do next.

What EduKateSG ULD Is Not

ULD is NOT:

  • a test paper collection
  • an exam strategy shortcut
  • a generic “assessment”
  • a personality quiz
  • a one-off diagnosis with no follow-up loop

Those may measure outcomes. ULD measures system integrity.

Why ULD Exists

Most education fails silently because schools and parents often only see:

  • homework completion
  • grades
  • teacher comments
  • “seems okay / seems weak”

But the real problems are usually deeper:

  • the learner is missing a prerequisite layer
  • the learner has drifted (knew it before, lost it now)
  • the learner has poor retrieval stability
  • the learner is overloaded (cognitive load collapse)
  • the learner’s method is mismatched to their current stage

ULD exists to make those invisible problems visible, so recovery becomes fast and precise.

Where ULD Sits in the EduKateSG System Stack

ULD runs on top of the Education OS root layer and relies on vocabulary + knowledge structure beneath it.

What ULD Produces (Outputs)

ULD produces 4 outputs:

  1. Fault Type (what kind of learning failure is happening)
  2. Fault Location (which layer broke: knowledge, method, retrieval, load, sequencing)
  3. Recovery Mode (what to run next to fix it)
  4. Verification Loop (proof the fix worked)

Without verification, it is not ULD. It is guessing.

ULD Recovery Modes

ULD recovery modes are standardized pathways that restore learning integrity, such as:

  • prerequisite rebuild (missing layer recovery)
  • retrieval stabilization (stop forgetting)
  • sequencing reset (rebuild in correct order)
  • cognitive load reduction (stop overload collapse)
  • method correction (right technique for the stage)

Who ULD Is For

ULD is designed for:

  • parents who know their child is working hard but results are stuck
  • students who “study a lot” but cannot convert effort into scores
  • tutors/teachers who need a consistent diagnostic language
  • institutions that want measurable recovery pathways
  • adults who are reskilling and hitting plateaus
  • high performers who want to remove bottlenecks and lift ceilings

Safety and Proper Administration Disclaimer

ULD must be administered properly.

  • If a user is not honest about what they did, what they know, or what they struggled with, the diagnostic output can be wrong.
  • If the administrator is untrained, they may misread signals and prescribe the wrong recovery mode.
  • ULD is a high-performance diagnostic framework: it is powerful, but misuse can create confusion, anxiety, or wasted training time.

For safe usage, ULD should be run with clear inputs, careful interpretation, and a verification loop that confirms the recovery worked.
