After a bad test result, do not rush straight into more work or a larger judgement about the child. One paper is evidence, not a complete diagnosis. Read the marked script carefully and separate what went wrong: missing knowledge, weak understanding, misreading, poor application, careless execution, timing, or anxiety under examination conditions.
Then look for the pattern that matters most. A single unusual error may need little attention; a repeated failure across several questions usually deserves repair. Correct the underlying weakness, practise it in a similar form, and retest before deciding whether the result signals a larger problem.
