Hampstead Wetlands Park | Boardwalk Access, Birdwatching and Parking in Seletar

Hampstead Wetlands Park is a freshwater habitat within Seletar Aerospace Park, at Seletar Aerospace View and Hampstead Gardens. NParks lists the 3.23-hectare park as open 24 hours. A quiet nature walk or patient birdwatching stop is a better fit than an activity-heavy park outing.

Access has an important qualification: the official page marks the park wheelchair accessible but states that there is no wheelchair connection between the nature trail and boardwalk. Check the particular section and approach you need before planning a continuous circuit.

There is no on-site car park. NParks directs drivers to the car park at 2 Park Lane. Establish the final walking route separately, and keep the wetland visit distinct from another Seletar destination such as Rower’s Bay.

CHAPTER 1 OF 4

1. Plan the wetland as your destination

Back to contents

Save the park’s exact location and choose your transport connection using a current map. Seletar Aerospace Park is a wider area, so arriving somewhere in the precinct is not the same as reaching the wetland.

If driving, check lawful parking arrangements, current charges and the pedestrian approach from the parking area. The official reference to nearby parking does not guarantee a space.

Arrange a specific meeting point if people arrive separately. A clear destination helps a short outdoor stop stay short and pleasant.

CHAPTER 2 OF 4

2. Choose access section by section

Back to contents

The boardwalk and nature trail need to be considered separately when wheelchair access matters. Use the official location information and check current signs before deciding on the visit.

An out-and-back section can be a good choice. You do not need to complete a loop to enjoy a wetland, especially when the connection between sections does not suit the group.

For families, explain the return point at the beginning. Children can explore and observe more comfortably when adults have already resolved where the route ends.

CHAPTER 3 OF 4

3. Make birdwatching a quiet pause

Back to contents

Begin by standing or sitting where you will not block the public path. Watch for movement in the habitat and give yourself time to notice it.

A pair of binoculars can help, but careful observation does not require equipment. Children might describe where a bird moved, whether it was near the water and what it did next.

Do not fish or feed fish, release animals, swim or cycle on the boardwalk. The wetland is a living habitat; a visit works best when visitors leave its daily activity undisturbed.

CHAPTER 4 OF 4

4. Combine the park with Seletar carefully

Back to contents

If adding a cafe or another attraction, check its location and opening hours separately. A quiet walk followed by a confirmed meal is easier than searching for food after the group is tired.

The 24-hour listing does not make every hour equally suitable for a first visit. Daylight is a practical choice for understanding the approach and the different paths.

Check official updates and weather before leaving. Bring water, seek appropriate shelter in thunderstorms and shorten the visit when needed. Use the Seletar guide for a larger day, with this habitat stop kept manageable.
