That person has made decisions.

Another basket has diapers, milk powder, wet wipes, bananas, biscuits, and coffee.

That person has a small child and has not slept properly since 2021.

Another basket has chips, chocolate, soft drinks, and one lonely apple placed there for moral balance.

That person has negotiated with conscience and lost.

The basket reveals need.

It reveals habit.

It reveals budget.

It reveals appetite.

It reveals the household.

A student is the same.

A child walking into tuition is not just a “Primary 5 student”, “Secondary 2 student”, “PSLE student”, “O-Level student”, “weak in English”, “careless in Mathematics”, or “not good at Science”.

Those are labels.

Convenient labels.

Sometimes useful.

Often too crude.

The student is a basket.
