Jurong Central Park is the Boon Lay destination to choose when you want life-sized board-game features, not a trip around Jurong Lake Gardens. NParks places this eight-hectare park at the junction of Jalan Boon Lay and Boon Lay Way, lists Boon Lay MRT nearby and gives its opening hours as 24 hours.
The Ludo Garden is its distinctive attraction: coloured tiles and columns turn a familiar tabletop idea into a landscape you can move through. NParks also identifies a clock tower that generates game numbers. Come with a playful plan, then check the instructions and working features you find on the day.

CHAPTER 1 OF 6 · Arrive in Boon Lay
1. Choose Jurong Central Park, not Jurong Lake Gardens
Both places belong in a western-Singapore outing, but they are not interchangeable map destinations. Save the full name of Jurong Central Park before leaving, particularly if the Ludo Garden is the reason for your visit.
Plan the approach from Boon Lay MRT using a current walking map. Include crossings and the park entrance rather than measuring only the distance between two labels. If friends are joining from different directions, agree on one meeting point before anyone starts exploring.
NParks identifies a paid carpark near McDonald’s, with 79 car spaces, 12 motorcycle spaces and two spaces for visitors with disabilities. Those figures describe the facility, not its availability at your arrival time.
Check current parking signs for rates and conditions. Then decide how the group will move from the carpark to the chosen activity and back. A reunion point is useful if one adult returns to the car while others finish their walk or wait with a child.
Start by looking at the game layout and reading any displayed rules. The attraction is more enjoyable when everyone understands how you intend to use it. Check the number-generating feature before assuming a game will run exactly as an older account describes.
If the official game arrangement is unavailable, you can still enjoy the landscape without inventing instructions for the facility. For example, propose your own colour-spotting activity to your group and make clear that it is your activity. Look for a colour, walk to an appropriate open visitor spot and take turns choosing the next one.
Keep movement considerate. The goal is shared play, not racing through other visitors or occupying every part of the space. Younger children may be happiest with a few turns, while older participants might enjoy a longer game.
The official page also identifies a pond with aquatic plants and opportunities to notice dragonflies and birds. Treat it as a quieter contrast to the game landscape, without expecting wildlife to appear on schedule.
Try looking for differences between the planted edge and the open water. If you see an animal, watch from the designated path and give it room. Do not lean over the water to improve a photograph or make feeding part of the visit.
A pause is also a chance to check how everyone feels. Water, a short rest and a decision about the next stop can make the remaining afternoon easier. You do not need a second energetic activity simply because the group has finished the first.
For a first visit, set aside roughly an hour as a flexible personal plan: arrive, orient yourselves, enjoy the game area, take a short walk and return. This is not a measured circuit or an official recommended stay.
Let the group’s interest decide how the time is divided. Someone who loves games may want more time in the Ludo Garden; someone else may prefer looking at the pond. A clear meeting time lets different interests coexist without asking everyone to enjoy the same activity for the same length of time.
NParks lists nearby park connectors and describes the park as wheelchair accessible. If you want to continue beyond the park, check the complete route and the accessibility conditions relevant to your group. The existence of a connector does not settle how long an extension will take.
A meal or another Boon Lay stop is optional, too. Check individual businesses for hours rather than applying the park’s schedule to them. Visitor facts were checked against NParks on 12 October 2026. Continue into the wider Boon Lay guide for more neighbourhood ideas, or finish after a satisfying game and a comfortable walk.
