Sun Plaza Park is a nine-hectare park along Tampines Avenue 7 and Tampines Avenue 9, listed by NParks as open 24 hours, wheelchair accessible and elderly friendly. It is the Tampines park, not Sun Plaza shopping mall in Sembawang.
On 17 June 2026, NParks opened the Magical Bridge Playground here. Its design includes barrier-free routes, wheelchair-accessible equipment and a slide developed with wheelchair users in mind, alongside quieter spaces for people who need a break from active play.
Plan around the people visiting rather than a checklist of equipment. Give children time to settle, follow the guidance on each feature and let a quieter pause be an ordinary part of the session.

Use the official park location and map before choosing transport. A search using only ‘Sun Plaza’ can send your journey towards the wrong destination.
Tampines MRT is listed as nearby, but check the final approach and relevant crossings for your chosen entrance. Include the walk back when deciding how long to spend playing.
For access needs, verify the entire route from transport to the playground. An inclusive play space is most useful when the arrival works comfortably too.
The opening announcement describes design features supporting different abilities and needs. Treat that range as an invitation to choose, rather than pressure to try every feature.
Read the posted equipment instructions and assess what suits the child today. A wheelchair-oriented feature still needs to be used according to its own guidance; an article cannot replace the instructions on site.
Give children room to watch before participating. Adults can explain turn-taking, offer help and step back when a child feels ready, without making the visit a test of bravery.
NParks identifies Hideaway Huts and a sensory garden as part of the playground design. A break from busy play can be planned from the start rather than treated as a failed outing.
The playground’s four zones use seed dispersal as a theme: self, wind, water and animals. If a child is interested, use that as one short conversation about how plants travel.
Keep the learning optional. The main job of a family visit is comfortable participation, with room for active play, observation and rest.
The wider park includes other recreation spaces, but a playground visit need not become an attempt to use everything. Choose any second activity only after checking how the group feels.
Confirm current playground access and on-site signs separately from the park’s general 24-hour listing. Equipment maintenance or specific rules can affect the feature you came to use.
Bring water, check weather and choose a clear return. Continue to the Tampines guide for another local stop, or let one relaxed play session be the whole outing.
