The existence of an alchemical text in a medical manuscript may seem to strengthen alchemical interpretations of Voynich.
It also weakens careless ones.

Because Pal. lat. 1240 gives us a real labelled alchemical block.

If Voynich’s pharmaceutical-looking pages do not share comparable operations, vocabulary structures, apparatus or material organisation, then “alchemy” remains a visual temptation rather than a functional match.

Several substantial consilia by Guilhelmus de Brescia follow.
The cases include breast cancer, fistula, phthisis and catarrhal cough.
This is another shift in representation.
The codex moves from general substances and transformations back to individual disease problems.

Marsilio Santasofia Makes Diagnosis the Final Major Architecture
The largest final portion is Paduan-linked.
Marsilio Santasofia contributes a glossed Avicennian Summa pulsuum on pulse and a Summa urinarum on urine.
Together they occupy well over one hundred folios.
This is not a marginal survival of Paduan medicine.
It is the major closing system of the codex.
Pulse and urine are diagnostic interfaces.
They translate bodily output into medical inference.
