Revision becomes inefficient when every weak topic is treated as independent. Some errors are downstream symptoms of an upstream gap. A student may appear weak in simultaneous equations, coordinate geometry and algebraic word problems because basic manipulation of equations is unstable. Repairing each visible topic separately creates repetition; repairing the shared prerequisite can improve several later areas at once. Dependency-aware revision therefore maps prerequisites, identifies bottlenecks and fixes the earliest weak link that materially constrains downstream performance.
Weaknesses Form Graphs, Not Lists
A revision checklist treats topics as separate boxes.
A dependency map asks which boxes feed others.
This is often the more useful structure.
Prerequisites Create Multipliers
If one prerequisite supports five later topics, repairing it has higher leverage than polishing one isolated downstream skill.

The same algebra step fails each time.
The problem is not lack of exposure to the complex topic.
The prerequisite route is unstable.
The Earliest Weak Link Is Not Always the First Topic in the Textbook
Dependency order is logical, not chronological.
Ask which capability the current failure requires, then trace backward until the first unstable node appears.
Revision Triage and Dependency Order Are Different
Revision Triage owns priority across the active queue broadly.
Dependency Order adds a specific rule inside that triage: if one weakness causes several others, move it forward.
