Record and result are evidence words. Recording preserves information. A result is an outcome. If a child changes a result to match what was expected, the record is no longer trustworthy. Even at Primary 2, that is an important lesson in intellectual honesty.
Difference, similar, separate and connect help children describe relationships. Two things can be similar in one way and different in another. Two objects can be physically separate but conceptually connected. Teaching relationship words gives pupils more flexible thought than rigid either-or categories.
