The Rail Mall is at 380 Upper Bukit Timah Road, Singapore 678040, in the Hillview area. Its official visitor page lists access from Hillview MRT Exit A or Hume MRT. It is a useful destination for a meal or an errand, with the nearby Rail Corridor giving visitors an outdoor option to plan separately.
For opening hours, check the individual outlet. The mall says that 24-hour dining and a supermarket are available, but this does not mean every business stays open all night. Its published parking rates are $1.40 per hour for cars and $1.35 per entry for motorcycles; check the entrance signs for current terms.
Did you know that a visit to The Rail Mall and a visit to Bukit Timah Railway Station are different outings? They share a railway connection in the wider neighbourhood, but you should not use their names interchangeably when choosing a route or a meeting point.

SECTION 1 OF 5
1. Choose Hillview or Hume by the actual route
The official mall page offers Hillview Exit A and Hume as nearby train approaches. Compare your starting point and the onward walking route before deciding. The best approach is the one your group can follow comfortably.
Agree on a particular outlet if you are meeting friends. The mall’s general address identifies the destination, while a named business tells everyone where to gather once they arrive.
Allow time for the final walk and follow the pedestrian crossings. A station being close to a destination does not remove the need to understand which side of the road you need.
SECTION 2 OF 5
2. Make food the anchor of the visit
The official dining directory includes Springleaf Prata Place and Subway, among other businesses. Springleaf is listed with 24-hour operation, while other outlets have their own schedules. Check the current listing or contact the business before a special trip.
Choose the meal according to the outing. Before a walk, a comfortable portion and enough water may suit you better than ordering a large spread. After a walk, a relaxed meal gives everyone a chance to pause.
Read the menu rather than assuming that an old photograph reflects today’s dishes or prices. If dietary requirements matter, ask the outlet directly about ingredients and preparation.
SECTION 3 OF 5
3. Treat parking charges as dated visitor information
The rates above come from the mall’s official visitor page checked for this guide. Look for posted conditions when you enter, including the charging interval and any changes to the tariff.
Estimate parking for the whole visit. A meal, an errand and an outdoor detour can take much longer together than the lunch booking alone. If you plan a longer walk, make sure the parking arrangement suits that plan.
The mall also identifies bicycle parking. Use the designated area and secure your bicycle without blocking pedestrian routes or shop access.
SECTION 4 OF 5
4. Plan the Rail Corridor section separately
The mall’s visitor page points to a Rail Corridor approach by the truss-bridge steps opposite Springleaf Prata Place. That is useful orientation, but steps are not a guarantee of a step-free route. Check the official corridor map if your group needs accessible access.
Choose the direction, turning point and return before starting. A corridor encourages you to keep going; a family still needs to know where the walk ends and how everyone gets back.
Check NParks notices and follow the route signs. Keep a considerate pace around other users, and do not let a pleasant meal stop turn into an unplanned long-distance outing.
NParks says the Rail Corridor is unlit at night to support nocturnal wildlife, apart from limited lighting at certain access points and the railway-station community node. Plan to leave before dark. A late-opening restaurant nearby does not make the corridor a suitable night walk.

5. Enjoy one clear version of the day
A first visit could be just a meal and a short look around. Another day could focus on a planned corridor walk with food afterwards. Both can be satisfying without combining every nearby attraction.
Our Dairy Farm Nature Park guide introduces a separate nearby nature destination with different attraction hours. Read the route information before adding it to the same day.
If railway heritage is your main interest, see our Bukit Timah Railway Station guide. Choose it deliberately as its own destination.
