Tuition | Guiyang

Three students sit around open books and worksheets at a classroom table, reading, writing and discussing the work together.

Tuition in Guiyang should be judged by one result: can the student now think more independently? A child may memorise every step for solving an equation but struggle when the same idea appears in an unfamiliar Science problem. Another may read English confidently yet hesitate during a spoken question. Useful tutoring identifies the exact gap before adding more lessons, rather than treating every difficulty as a reason to increase homework.

For Guiyang and Gui’an families, effective learning support must also fit a real school pathway. The 2026 750-point junior-secondary examination combines Chinese, Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, Humanities and Physical Education, while other subjects are presented through grades or practical qualification requirements. This article explains the system in approachable language and uses eduKate Singapore’s diagnosis-first, premium three-pupil teaching philosophy as a reference—not as a claim that eduKate operates a tuition centre in Guiyang.

A tutor should make the child’s thinking visible, then gradually make the tutor less necessary.

The 2026 Guiyang–Gui’an examination: 750 points with important non-score subjects

The Guiyang Education Bureau’s 2026 junior-secondary examination and senior-secondary admissions plan sets a maximum of 750 scored points. Chinese and Mathematics each contribute 150; English contributes 120, including 30 points for a computer-based listening-and-speaking assessment. Integrated Science contributes 150, divided into Physics 90 and Chemistry 60. Integrated Humanities contributes 130, divided into History 60 and Morality and Rule of Law 70. Physical Education and Health contributes 50.

Other subjects—Biology, Geography, Information Technology, Music and Art—are graded rather than added in the same way. Physics, Chemistry and Biology practical skills are assessed with pass/fail results. That difference is important: a non-scoring subject may still create a qualification requirement. Parents should not encourage pupils to ignore anything outside the six scored groups.

The main written examinations ran from 20 to 22 June 2026. Chinese was on 20 June, with integrated Science that afternoon; Mathematics and English were on the following day; the integrated Humanities paper followed on 22 June. The English listening-and-speaking portion and practical assessments were arranged separately. Scientific calculators were not permitted in the examination components under the city guidance.

Read the Guiyang Evening News publication of the city’s 2026 official examination and admissions plan, the Guiyang Admissions Examination Management Centre’s rules for the 2026 graduating cohort, and the centre’s official updates. Later entrants should check their own year’s policy, including the recently published 2027 registration notice.

Different parts of Guiyang do not share one cutoff

The 2026 Guiyang–Gui’an admission control lines vary by area and application round. For example, the first-batch and second-batch ordinary-high-school control lines were 582 and 508 in the ‘three districts and one former area’ grouping (Yunyan, Nanming, Guanshanhu and former Xiaohe), versus 541 and 489 in Huaxi District. Other places, including Wudang and Baiyun, had separate values.

These numbers are historical minimum filing-control thresholds, not promises that a student above them will enter a particular school. A family’s actual options depend on location, applicant category, eligibility, school plans, preferences and ranking. They should be confirmed through the authorised enrolment service.

The city announced the details on 10 July 2026 after the examination result release. Guiyang Evening News published the official admissions briefing, reporting 71,991 candidates and planned places in general senior-secondary and vocational routes. Parents choosing tutoring should separate learning needs from the independent administrative process.

A test score is not the student’s complete learning map

Imagine two students who lose ten marks in Maths. One understands the formula but fails to read the units; another interprets the quantities correctly but cannot control negative numbers. Their score loss is the same, but their lessons should be different. The tutor who gives both thirty more identical algebra questions has not yet diagnosed the issue.

A useful first session asks for two authentic marked tasks. The pupil should explain what the problem was asking, why the first step seemed appropriate and where the reasoning failed. The tutor then offers a simpler version to inspect a prerequisite and a changed version to test transfer.

The diagnosis should be expressed precisely enough for parents to judge it. ‘Understands ratio calculation but not which quantity is the base in a percentage-change problem’ is teachable. ‘Needs to work harder’ is vague.

A Guiyang mathematics tutorial: comparing routes across a hilly city

Imagine two fictional walking routes. The first rises 24 metres over 120 metres horizontally; the second rises 18 metres over 60 metres. The first has a rise-to-run ratio of 0.20 and the second 0.30. The second is steeper even though the total vertical rise is smaller.

A student who compares 24 and 18 without their horizontal distances has confused a quantity with a rate. A tutor can draw two slope triangles, calculate each fraction, convert them to percentages and then sketch the resulting gradients on a graph. The relationship is understood through multiple representations.

Fractions should carry meaning into algebra

Three quarters of 48 is 36. Reverse the question: 36 is three quarters of what whole? One quarter is 12, so the whole is 48. A secondary student can describe the same relationship as 3x/4 = 36. If the learner knows only the forward multiplication, later symbolic work will be fragile.

Start with a bar diagram, let the student explain in ordinary language and finally introduce the algebraic notation. Learning becomes more continuous when the underlying idea remains stable while the representation changes.

Equations express balance

The equation 5x + 4 = 29 means five equal quantities plus a fixed amount of four give 29. Subtracting four leaves 25 and x is five. Ask the pupil to describe a matching story. Then change the story so four is charged per item and see whether the equation changes correctly. That’s the real modelling skill.

No-calculator work needs understanding and checking

Fluent arithmetic helps, but the answer is not merely faster calculation. Teach estimation, unit labels, substitution checks and good written structure. One child may need to repair a negative-number concept while another needs a habit of rereading the question. Avoid treating all wrong answers as carelessness.

English and Chinese tuition: comprehension, then communication

The 2026 Guiyang English programme includes a computer-based listening-and-speaking examination. A learner may read confidently but struggle with spoken sequencing or producing an answer promptly. A tutorial focused only on written grammar would miss the specific assessed ability.

A useful listening-and-speaking exercise

Play an age-appropriate announcement about a school visit. The meeting place changes from the entrance to a classroom, but the starting time stays the same. Ask what changed, which information remained unchanged, and what the listener should do. Then ask the student to explain aloud, in clear sentences.

The next recording should use a different situation so the pupil cannot repeat a memorised transcript. Oral confidence develops when the learner can understand and organise meaning rather than simply recite lines.

Reading comprehension: a claim needs evidence

Whether reading Chinese or English, students should distinguish explicitly stated information from a reasonable inference. Ask which sentence in the text supports the proposed interpretation. A beautifully phrased but unsupported answer is still weak.

Writing is an organised chain

Before a full essay, ask for one claim, a relevant example and an explanation of why the example matters. This structure supports coherence across both languages. Vocabulary makes the expression more precise, but it cannot replace the purpose of the paragraph.

Guiyang families in different school and language backgrounds may face different syllabuses. The student’s curriculum, assessment language and school requirements determine what support is appropriate; do not mistake home multilingualism for an academic problem.

Science: experiments need an explanation, not just a successful procedure

The city uses a combined Physics-and-Chemistry written assessment along with practical competency checks. A Science pupil might know a formula but struggle to interpret the diagram, or correctly carry out an experiment but not understand why the result supports a conclusion.

A fair-test scenario

Suppose a student wants to compare how quickly two equal amounts of sugar dissolve at different water temperatures. What should stay constant? Water volume, sugar form, stirring and container conditions are worth controlling. If two conditions change simultaneously, it becomes difficult to attribute an observed difference to only one factor.

Teach a reasoning chain: question, prediction, independent variable, controls, measurement, observation and conclusion. The child should also say what would challenge their explanation. This is deeper learning than memorising an ‘expected result’.

Observation and inference are not interchangeable

A liquid turning cloudy is an observation. Explaining a chemical reaction is an inference that needs enough supporting evidence. A graph showing a rising line is a representation; identifying what rises and why requires the axes and the underlying scientific relationship.

Families can practise with diagrams, graphs and safe everyday comparisons. Actual lab procedures requiring specialist supervision should be handled in suitable, authorised school environments.

Humanities and graded subjects remain meaningful

The 2026 Guiyang integrated Humanities paper combines History with Morality and Rule of Law in a closed-book written assessment. Pupils need retrieval, but simply memorising dates or phrases does not guarantee an answer. They must understand why evidence is relevant and how to explain a cause or principle.

Biology, Geography, Information Technology, Music and Art carry grade-based roles. Parents should confirm the school’s qualifying requirements instead of assuming that a grade-based subject is disposable. The child’s broader learning profile matters beyond one numerical total.

A useful source-analysis tutorial gives the student two short historical accounts, asks which factual claims each supports and then has the learner write a concise explanation. Even without the source in an examination, practising the relationship helps ideas become understandable and memorable.

Why eduKate’s immutable three-pupil reference matters

The stable Secondary 1 Mathematics Tutor Clementi | Small Groups Tutorials describes premium 3-pax mathematics teaching near Sixth Avenue MRT in Singapore. Its purpose here is to illustrate the value of close diagnosis, explanation and deliberate practice. It is not evidence of an eduKate tuition centre in Guiyang.

Imagine three students solving the slope problem. One compares only elevation gains. Another reverses the ratio. The third gets the correct rate but cannot interpret the graph. A thoughtful tutor invites all three to explain, uses the differences to teach proportional reasoning and then gives a new question without hints.

The number three provides an opportunity for attention and peer comparison. It does not guarantee teaching quality. The decisive outcome is whether the learner can identify a method, explain it and use it independently later.

Six movements of a productive tutorial

MovementWhat the student doesEvidence of learning
RecallAnswer an older problem without notesThe idea survived time
DiagnoseExplain an actual mistaken responseThe gap becomes specific
BuildConnect words, pictures and symbolsThe relationship makes sense
PractiseSolve a few targeted variationsFeedback repairs the misconception
TransferChoose a method in a new questionThe child works without prompting
ReturnCheck days laterUnderstanding is still available

This is a teaching-design example, not an advertised local class timetable. Younger pupils may need shorter sessions and breaks; older students can spend longer reasoning independently.

Repair, maintain and extend—three different teaching priorities

  • Repair: teach an unstable prerequisite and connect it to the present school chapter.
  • Maintain: use spaced retrieval and accurate checking to protect consistent progress.
  • Extend: invite alternative methods, better arguments and more rigorous scientific explanations.
  • Reduce: when the student has become capable alone, reassess whether extra lessons remain valuable.

A four-week parent decision process

Families in Yunyan, Nanming, Guanshanhu, Huaxi, Baiyun and Wudang do not share the same school route or evening schedule. A ninety-minute tuition appointment can consume substantially more time once commuting, follow-up homework and recovery are included. Compare that total burden with the specific learning skill it is expected to repair.

WeekActionEvidence worth keeping
1Collect schoolwork and identify two repeated errorsA concrete gap, not a broad label
2Teach one missing concept through a simple representationChild explains it unaided
3Mix a new context with older learningChild selects the method without hints
4Return after several days and consider time costUnderstanding persists

This process can be used at home with schoolteacher feedback. If a commercial service is considered, the family should verify legality separately. High study volume by itself is not proof of progress.

China’s Double Reduction policy: commercial tutoring requires checking

Mainland China’s Double Reduction framework regulates after-school commercial academic-subject training for pupils in compulsory education. Calling a class tutorial, coaching or enrichment does not automatically exempt it. Student age, subject, teaching mode, provider approval and schedule can all matter.

For any proposed Guiyang provider, check national, Guizhou and municipal requirements, lawful operating status where applicable, teacher qualifications, fees, refunds and safety. School-based after-class support and private commercial tutoring may follow different rules. The Ministry of Education’s Double Reduction framework is a national starting point, not a certification of any specific provider.

Frequently asked Guiyang tuition questions

Was Guiyang’s 2026 examination out of 750?

Yes, for the Guiyang–Gui’an 2026 scoring structure described above. Chinese 150, Mathematics 150, English 120, Science 150, Humanities 130 and Physical Education 50 add to 750.

Is the computer-based English listening-and-speaking assessment important?

Yes. It contributes 30 points to the 120-point English result in the 2026 framework. A student needing this support should practise spoken comprehension and response directly rather than only work through written grammar.

Do district-specific control lines guarantee school placement?

No. They are admission-filing thresholds for a particular area and batch, not school offers. Eligibility, school places, preferences and ranking still determine outcomes.

Does every pupil require tuition?

No. Many students learn effectively through school and sensible independent practice. Extra help is most appropriate when there is a specific persistent difficulty and a targeted, legally suitable intervention.

Does eduKate operate a Guiyang tuition location?

No Guiyang centre or locally bookable class is represented. The premium three-pupil teaching reference is based in Singapore.

Official policy reading and related eduKate guides

Editorial scope, October 2026: The subject points and district admission-control numbers are historical 2026 facts, not forecasts for later cohorts. Current local eligibility and legal tutoring requirements must be checked with the relevant authorities. Illustrative mathematics problems do not describe actual Guiyang routes.

Less noise. More structure. Stronger learning continuity. A useful Guiyang tutorial leaves the student more capable of choosing a method, explaining the reason and checking the result when nobody is prompting them.
