Tuition | Hefei

Three students sit around open books and worksheets at a classroom table, reading, writing and discussing the work together.

Tuition in Hefei should help parents choose a learning plan that still makes sense when the examination rules change. Families hear about revised score totals, new school pathways, changes in listening-and-speaking assessment, and the constant pressure to practise. It is easy to start buying more revision before asking the most useful question: what is the student actually unable to do independently?

Hefei is a city associated with scientific research, new technologies and major manufacturing activity. For education, the important lesson is not to rush children through advanced content, but to test the foundation and see whether a system works reliably. This guide uses eduKate Singapore’s calm diagnosis-first teaching logic and its premium three-student tutorials as an educational reference. It does not represent eduKate as operating a physical Hefei tuition centre.

Better preparation begins with the learner’s actual knowledge, the right year’s examination rules, and a teaching method that joins them together.

Guide: 2026 versus 2028 rules · learning diagnosis · Mathematics · Science · English · Humanities · 3-pax tutorial · parent plan · regulation.

The important date distinction: 2026 is 750 points; the reform comes in 2028

One of the easiest ways for a Hefei family to be misled is to read a headline saying the junior-secondary examination has dropped from 750 to 730 points without checking which students the change applies to.

The 2026 and 2027 Hefei school-leaving and senior-secondary admissions cycles retain the 750-point arrangement: Chinese 150, Mathematics 150, foreign language 120 including a 20-point listening component, Morality and Rule of Law 80, History 70, Physics 70, Chemistry 40, Physical Education and Health 60, and practical experiment operations 10.

For students sitting the examination in 2028 and later, Hefei announced a different 730-point structure. PE and Health rises to 70; History and Morality and Rule of Law are weighted to a combined 120 points; and foreign-language listening and speaking is assessed together rather than as the earlier listening format. Other changes concern the timing and composition of the relevant assessments.

That timing matters enormously for tutoring. A parent planning a 2026 student’s final preparation should not purchase a programme built around the 2028 score table. A child graduating in 2028 or later should not assume older practice formats will remain sufficient. Ask tutors to write the exact cohort on the learning plan.

For documented policy descriptions, see the June 2026 reporting of Hefei’s official 2026 admission arrangements, and the Hefei Education Bureau’s announced 2028 reform explanation. A reproduction of the 2026 examination implementation plan also covers subject formats and practical components.

History and Morality and Rule of Law70 + 80Combined weighted contribution 120
Physical Education and Health6070

The 2026 implementation uses open-book arrangements for History and Morality and Rule of Law, while Chinese, Mathematics, foreign language and the written Physics/Chemistry papers follow their stated closed-book formats. The city also differentiates the 2026 eighth-grade Geography, Biology and Information Technology assessments from the ninth-grade admission-point components.

Two families, two different tutoring decisions

Imagine one pupil who plans to sit the 2026 Mathematics examination and another still several school years from the 2028 system. Both say, ‘I am weak at equations.’ In both cases, the first task is to find the student’s actual misconception. Their examination-planning timelines are different, but the mathematical foundation is the same.

One student might manipulate 3x + 4 = 25 correctly but not know what x means in a story. Another might understand the story yet mishandle negative signs. A third might solve everything during a tutorial but become lost in mixed homework. These problems call for translation, arithmetic repair and independent retrieval respectively.

A good tutor requests actual marked work, asks the student to explain the first step and uses one changed problem to test whether the method survives a new context. The result should be a precise statement such as ‘understands equations but does not form them from quantities in a paragraph’—not ‘weak in Maths’.

Hefei Mathematics tuition: equations are compressed explanations

Suppose an imaginary lab needs three identical measurement devices plus a shared 45-yuan setup fee. The total cost is 345 yuan. What does one device cost? Remove the fixed setup fee: 345 − 45 = 300. Divide by three: each device costs 100 yuan. A student can represent this as 3d + 45 = 345.

The interesting part comes next. What if the 45-yuan fee applies to each device? Then the same words no longer justify the original equation. The correct model changes to 3(d + 45) = 345, making the base price 70 yuan. A student who notices the difference is modelling the situation. A student who simply applies the first procedure may not understand the role of the fee.

Arithmetic ideas remain inside algebra

Fractions, ratios and signed numbers do not disappear when letters arrive. They are the building blocks of algebra. When a child has difficulty with algebraic fractions, a tutor should test whether equivalent fractions were properly understood years earlier. The appropriate repair might be simple bars and number examples before returning to symbolic notation.

Graphs add another representation

An equation can be represented by a table or graph. If a student knows y = 2x + 3, ask what happens when x increases by one. What part of the expression determines the rate of change? Can the pupil explain the intercept and create three ordered pairs? These questions make the algebra more than a mechanical substitution task.

Accuracy should be trained for the right cause

Students may lose marks through missed units, sign mistakes or rushed copying. These errors should be distinguished from conceptual misunderstanding. Teaching a checking routine is helpful, but telling a learner to ‘be careful’ without showing the specific action to take is not a learning plan.

Physics and Chemistry: testing whether the idea works

Hefei’s scientific identity makes real-world examples attractive, but good Science teaching does not depend on advanced equipment. A careful comparison with familiar materials can reveal what the learner understands about evidence, variables and uncertainty.

A simple measurement problem

An object travels 150 metres in 30 seconds. Its average speed is 5 metres per second. That is not the end of the lesson. Ask how this relationship looks as a graph, what the units of the slope are and whether the object must have travelled at a constant speed throughout. The final question exposes a common conceptual error: an average does not specify every instant.

Experiment design

Two equal quantities of a substance are placed into water at different temperatures. The tutor should ask students to decide what factor changes, what they should keep constant, what measurement will be made and what a surprising result might mean. This trains reasoning that travels across Physics, Chemistry and later scientific subjects.

The 2026 Hefei examination includes an experiment-operation contribution; that is a direct reminder that scientific performance has a practical dimension. The relevant safety requirements and official procedures must still be followed.

English tutoring: know which version of the examination applies

A pupil in the 2026 Hefei examination cycle faces a foreign-language component that includes listening. A pupil entering the 2028 system faces an updated combined listening-and-speaking assessment. These are related but not identical performance demands. A tutor should know the pupil’s cohort before suggesting an examination-focused study routine.

Listening: understand rather than transcribe

Read a fictional travel announcement aloud. The train’s platform changes, but the departure time remains the same. Can the learner identify the changed information and explain what a passenger must do? Next, create a different announcement where the time changes and the platform does not. This tests the student’s understanding of meaning.

Speaking: build an independent response

A speaking-oriented lesson might ask the learner to describe a change, give a reason or explain a simple preference. Start with a clear sentence, then add an example and finally remove the model. The target is coherent communication, not memorised dramatic speech.

Reading and writing: evidence connects ideas

For a comprehension question, the student should identify the relevant phrase and explain how it supports the conclusion. In writing, use a paragraph with a claim, supporting detail and explicit reasoning. A vocabulary list can supply useful tools, but a list is not yet an argument.

Chinese tuition: strong ideas need an understandable structure

Reading Chinese literature or nonfiction requires more than recognising characters. Students must notice tone, infer meaning, distinguish evidence from an impression and organise an answer. A helpful tutor teaches the learner to show which sentences support their interpretation.

For writing, ask what the paragraph is trying to achieve before choosing decorative language. A simple description of a student’s first experiment can become a coherent narrative when the writer knows what changed, what surprised them and what they learned. The same revision principles apply to Chinese and English.

Open-book humanities: the document does not construct the argument for you

Hefei’s 2026 framework permits relevant materials in History and Morality and Rule of Law assessments. However, a student with the book open can still choose an irrelevant passage, misunderstand the question or fail to explain why the passage matters. Good tuition practises source navigation and interpretation rather than just memorising where paragraphs appear.

A short exercise offers three extracts and a question that only one or two extracts actually answer. Ask the learner to choose the strongest evidence and explain why. Then change the question so a different source becomes relevant. That flexibility is useful in History, civics and science.

From 2028, the humanities contribution is also reweighted. Parents should respect the applicable assessment goals without turning preparation into a race to collect predictions about future questions.

The eduKate Singapore 3-pax tutorial as a stable reference

The immutable Clementi Secondary 1 Mathematics Tutor | Small Groups Tutorials describes premium classes limited to three pupils in Singapore, near Sixth Avenue MRT. It illustrates a balance of individual attention and peer explanation. It does not indicate any Hefei site or available commercial class.

Imagine three students addressing the measurement-device equation. The first solves it mentally, the second writes 3d + 45 = 345, and the third mistakenly allocates the fixed fee three times. A tutor can make all three methods visible, ask what each quantity means and then change the scenario. The different thought processes provide information that a line of answer keys would not.

A three-student lesson is only useful if each child actually thinks, speaks and receives precise feedback. Tutor skill and the learner’s independent performance matter more than the number printed in an advertisement.

PracticeWork on a few examples with feedbackAccuracy improves for the right reason
VariationChange one assumption or representationThe method adapts
IndependenceTry a mixed or unfamiliar question without hintsStudent chooses the approach
ReturnRepeat the concept after several daysUnderstanding has continuity

This is an educational teaching structure, not a timetable for Hefei tuition classes. Younger learners may need shorter lessons. Exam-stage pupils may need timed practice after the concepts are stable. Both benefit from being asked to explain and decide without hints.

Repair, maintain or progress: match the learner rather than the advertisement

  • Repair: when students cannot begin, identify the earliest missing prerequisite and rebuild it before returning to current work.
  • Maintain: when marks vary, use mixed retrieval and classification of recurring errors rather than repeating whole chapters automatically.
  • Progress: when foundations are strong, ask for alternative solutions, deeper explanations and careful scientific reasoning.
  • Reduce: when the student becomes independently capable, review whether extra tuition still earns its time cost.

A four-week family plan in Hefei

Families in Shushan, Baohe, Luyang, Yaohai and other Hefei districts have different routes, study days and recovery needs. A tutoring decision should include the full time cost of travel, homework and rest. There is no educational virtue in making every evening longer merely because classmates also have lessons.

WeekPractical actionWhat counts as progress
1Collect marked work and choose a precise error to studyA named missing link
2Rebuild the underlying idea using simple examplesIndependent explanation without notes
3Offer different wording or a changed modelCorrect method chosen without a hint
4Recheck the idea after a delay and discuss workloadStable understanding and reasonable time use

The plan can be used with schoolteachers and home study, or with a lawfully permitted provider where necessary. A student who no longer needs extra support has achieved a meaningful outcome, even if the tutoring programme becomes smaller.

Double Reduction: permission is a separate question from quality

Commercial academic-subject tutoring for children in compulsory education is subject to China’s Double Reduction framework and local rules. A provider’s label does not establish that a particular lesson is lawful. Age, subject, teaching mode, registration and timing can matter.

Before paying for academic tuition in Hefei, verify current national and Anhui/Hefei requirements, legal provider status where necessary, the tutor’s qualifications, fee handling, cancellation provisions and safety. School-based after-class support and private commercial tutoring can be subject to different arrangements.

The Ministry of Education’s national Double Reduction policy is a starting point. This page is educational commentary, not a certification of an overseas or local teaching offer.

Frequently asked Hefei tuition questions

Did Hefei reduce the exam total to 730 points in 2026?

No. The 2026 and 2027 cohorts retain the 750-point structure; the announced 730-point structure begins with the 2028 examination cohort. Mixing the dates leads to incorrect preparation.

Do the new listening-and-speaking rules apply to a 2026 candidate?

The combined listening-and-speaking reform is part of the later system. A tutor should use the official format for the student’s own cohort rather than an undated study advertisement.

Should a child always prepare using complete past papers?

No. Papers can reveal areas to investigate and later support timed practice, but a student with an unstable prerequisite often benefits more from a shorter targeted teaching sequence.

Is one-to-one necessarily better than a three-student class?

Neither is universally better. A three-student class can create valuable peer explanation while maintaining personal attention; one-to-one may suit other needs. The correct question is what the learner can subsequently do without help.

Does eduKate have a Hefei classroom?

No Hefei tuition centre is claimed. The immutable small-group reference is a Singapore programme used here to explain educational design.

Editorial note, October 2026: The 750-point and 730-point figures correspond to explicitly different examination cohorts. Later changes must be checked with official Hefei authorities. The learning examples are illustrative, and there is no claim of an eduKate Hefei branch, locally compliant service or guaranteed result.

A better tutor helps the child prepare for the right exam by learning the right thing. The outcome worth buying is not the largest timetable. It is more secure reasoning, more stable memory and less dependence on prompts.
