Plan your visit
The description says children take a nature discovery walk at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve/Hindhede Nature Park and receive a nature journal and crayons. The story provides an approachable way to ask about animals, their food and protecting their habitat.
A named animal character can help a young child enter the subject without first learning a list of scientific terms. It does not mean that a real colugo sighting is guaranteed. Explain that distinction gently before leaving home.
The same official page displays $9.17 per child in its ticket summary and S$10 per child for the educational nature kit in the registration note. We cannot resolve that discrepancy from the page alone; confirm the final payable amount through the organiser or registration process.
Read any adult-attendance and booking conditions there too. Do not assume a number printed in an event card settles the whole family’s cost. This guide reports the inconsistency rather than selecting one figure as definitive.
The listing marks wheelchair access, but confirm the specific route and arrangements if your child or an accompanying adult has mobility needs. A general access label does not describe every detail of the experience.
Ask about adult accompaniment, language or other requirements when unclear. Choose for the child you are bringing, not simply because their age falls within the range. A child who enjoys stories and drawing may respond differently from one expecting a playground visit.
Tell your child they will meet a story about forest animals and explore nature. There is no need to teach all the answers in advance. Bring what the organiser requests and allow time to settle before the session.
Afterwards, invite the child to show one page or colour they chose. Ask what made them notice it. The journal can preserve their own attention rather than becoming an adult-directed record of everything the programme covered.
Use the individual event listing for current dates, registration and confirmation. A walk into the reserve does not automatically give your family a place in the programme.
Keep the rest of the outing flexible and check notices and weather. If this session is unavailable, a modest independent visit is still possible; choose an appropriate public path and let the family enjoy it without trying to recreate a programme you have not attended.
