Places in Bukit Timah | November 2026 Guided Nature Walks and 2027 Visit Tips

Original conceptual illustration inspired by Rifle Range Nature Park showing a forest boardwalk, reclaimed quarry wetland and observation deck; not an actual site photograph.

Did you know? You do not have to wait until a new skywalk opens to discover something different in Bukit Timah. NParks’ October 2026 listings already show several November 2026 nature walks and programmes at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and nearby Rifle Range Nature Park. One is free; others have published fees.

Here is a quick reader’s guide to the dates, locations and what each outing is good for. The important qualification is that a published event listing is not a guarantee that a registration slot remains available. Always use the organiser’s current page before setting out.

Four Bukit Timah nature activities on the November calendar

  • Saturday 14 November 2026, 9.30–10.30am: Nature Appreciation Walk at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, listed as free. Meeting location: Bukit Timah Nature Reserve Visitor Centre.
  • Saturday 14 November 2026, 10–11am: Coco & Friends Programme at the same reserve Visitor Centre, listed at $9.17.
  • Saturday 21 November 2026, 9.30–10.30am: Nature Guided Walk at Rifle Range Nature Park, listed as free. Meeting location: Rifle Range Nature Park Visitor Pavilion.
  • Monday 23 November 2026, 8.30am–12.30pm: Nature Keeper Programme A: Introduction to Rainforests at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve Visitor Centre, listed at $22.94.

These are the dates, times and listed prices on NParks’ relevant park pages on 24 October 2026. Age eligibility, programme detail, booking availability and fees may change, so check the actual event listing before making plans. Each programme has its own format and is not interchangeable with a self-guided walk.

Choice 1: the Nature Appreciation Walk at Bukit Timah

This is a way to approach the rainforest with a guide rather than treating the summit as a stopwatch challenge. NParks lists a free hour-long nature-appreciation session on 14 November, based at its Visitor Centre at the end of Hindhede Drive.

The reserve is 163 hectares and protects some of Singapore’s remaining primary rainforest. On an ordinary walk, children can notice large tree roots, different leaf shapes, forest shade and the sounds of birds without needing to reach the summit.

Do not confuse a nature appreciation programme at the Visitor Centre with a guaranteed full hill climb. Follow the event description for its actual meeting point, route, restrictions and participant guidance.

Choice 2: Coco & Friends on the same Saturday

The 10am–11am Coco & Friends Programme is a separate listing with a published price of $9.17. Because it overlaps the earlier free walk, do not casually book or promise that a family can fully attend both.

Check the age requirements and programme description on NParks’ event page before booking. The title is not sufficient evidence of exact content, hands-on activities or eligibility. If bringing children, plan around whichever activity most suits them rather than treating the two sessions as one event.

Choice 3: Rifle Range Nature Park’s free guided walk

The 21 November 2026 Nature Guided Walk at Rifle Range Nature Park is shown as a free, recurring guided-tour programme. The park is a 66-hectare former quarry landscape, with a wetland, forest boardwalks and wildlife observation points.

The published gathering place is the Visitor Pavilion, not the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve Visitor Centre. They are two different sites. Rifle Range Nature Park’s official address is 126 Rifle Range Road, and NParks lists six public access points around the park.

If travelling with a pram or wheelchair user, NParks says the park includes an approximately 700 m barrier-free route between the Visitor Pavilion and Quarry Wetland. That does not mean every forest trail or guided itinerary is accessible; confirm the specific programme route first.

For more background on this separate venue, our Rifle Range guided walk and registration guide is designed to help readers recognise the park and distinguish its tour from casual independent visits.

Choice 4: Nature Keeper Programme A

The 23 November listing runs from 8.30am to 12.30pm, substantially longer than the one-hour walks. NParks describes it as Introduction to Rainforests and shows a fee of $22.94 on the reserve page. That makes it a programme to inspect carefully before registration: check who it is for, what the day includes and whether places remain.

Do not assume the programme takes place entirely indoors or is a summit hike; the individual event information, not this summary, determines the actual activities. Bring what the organiser instructs, including appropriate footwear and water.

Important 2026–2027 visitor arrangements

Both Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and Rifle Range Nature Park are listed as open 7am to 7pm under normal conditions. Pets are not allowed at either place. Parks and trails can close temporarily due to weather, maintenance or conservation work.

At Bukit Timah Hill, an announced repeater-station removal programme is scheduled through March 2028; the summit remains open, although the works area is fenced off. Our 2027 summit access article separates this worksite from the normal public hiking routes.

For 2027, do not assume every November 2026 listing repeats on the same calendar date, at the same price or with the same route. NParks labels certain activities recurring, but the individual 2027 session dates must be checked when published.

How to choose one programme without over-planning

  • Short introductory walk: consider the free Nature Appreciation Walk and verify a place is available.
  • Wetland wildlife: consider the Rifle Range guided walk, with a different meeting point from Bukit Timah’s Visitor Centre.
  • More structured learning: inspect the Nature Keeper description and age requirements before paying.
  • Family convenience: choose one primary programme, check the weather, arrive before the advertised meeting time and allow for getting to the correct park entrance.
  • No booking available? Plan an independent visit only in permitted public areas, using NParks’ trail maps and opening-hour guidance.

Frequently asked questions

Are the November 2026 Bukit Timah nature walks free?

Some are free, but not all. NParks lists the Nature Appreciation and Rifle Range guided walks as free; the other two example programmes have fees.

Do I just turn up and join a guided walk?

No assumption of walk-in admission is safe. Check the programme’s event and registration instructions first; spaces and eligibility can be limited.

Is the 21 November Rifle Range tour held at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve?

No. It starts at Rifle Range Nature Park’s Visitor Pavilion. The reserve’s Visitor Centre is a separate meeting point.

Will all four programmes be offered in 2027?

The 2026 schedule does not establish 2027 availability. Look for newly published NParks events before making a future booking.
