Places in Bukit Timah | Beauty World MRT, the Future Bus Hub and 2027 Plans

Jalan Jurong Kechil bus stop, construction and Beauty World MRT exit at Upper Bukit Timah.

Did you know? The busiest question around Beauty World is not simply where to eat or shop. It is this: When does the new bus interchange arrive, and what can people actually use before 2027 ends? These are different questions, and mixing them up can send visitors towards facilities that are not yet operating.

As of 24 October 2026, Beauty World MRT Station on the Downtown Line is an established working station. The future Beauty World Integrated Transport Hub is a separate project. It is intended to bring bus transfers, train journeys and nearby shops together, but it should not be described as an interchange that is open today.

Beauty World now, through 2027, and beyond: quick timeline

  • Now (October 2026): Beauty World MRT, existing surface bus stops, older shopping centres, cafés and shops in the area remain the practical travel network.
  • Already added: The LINQ @ Beauty World announced a retail soft opening in February 2025; check individual tenants and entrance arrangements before visiting.
  • Future transport hub: the Beauty World bus interchange is planned within the mixed-use development with Bukit V and The Reserve Residences. An industry transport guide reports a 2028 target; treat this as a projected date, not a confirmed opening day.
  • Separate community building: URA says the new integrated community-club, redeveloped market and hawker-centre, sports and eldercare facility is planned by 2029, not by 2027.
  • Practical 2027 message: make journeys using the facilities already open, and check LTA and URA announcements for changes.

What is an integrated transport hub?

Ordinary MRT stations connect trains to streets. An integrated transport hub goes further: LTA describes a bus interchange deliberately linked to an MRT station and adjoining development, such as a mall. The idea is to shorten the awkward distance between a bus transfer, a train platform and everyday errands.

At Beauty World, the future bus interchange is planned at the Jalan Jurong Kechil and Upper Bukit Timah Road area. The mixed-use development is associated with the Bukit V mall and The Reserve Residences. It is not the same project as the already operating Beauty World Centre or the newer The LINQ @ Beauty World.

What is actually open in 2026?

Beauty World MRT (DT5) is the clear starting point for a visit. Its station exits connect to different sides of the district, so choose an exit based on your actual destination rather than assuming every development has a direct indoor passage. For current orientation, use our Beauty World MRT exits and family directions guide.

The LINQ @ Beauty World, at 118 Upper Bukit Timah Road, reports a soft opening on 28 February 2025. Its own site describes evolving MRT connectivity and commercial tenancies. That makes it a useful example of how the district is changing in pieces rather than switching from old to new on one day.

And what about the old Bukit Timah Market?

This is where residents can easily be misled by a future-project illustration. The old Bukit Timah Market and Food Centre site is closed for redevelopment, and the interim market arrangement is a different place to navigate to. The planned new community complex is not an existing 2026 or 2027 hawker destination.

URA’s June 2026 recreation-plan update places the integrated Bukit Timah community facility at the doorstep of Beauty World MRT by 2029. It is planned to include the community club, redeveloped market and hawker centre, indoor sports hall and eldercare facility. For a meal this year, begin with the interim Bukit Timah Market location guide instead of an artist’s impression.

What should you watch during 2027?

Look for updates on construction progress, pedestrian-link arrangements, bus-route announcements and exact handover dates. A published target of 2028 for the larger transport-linked project should not be turned into a guaranteed 2027 opening because an adjacent shop or entrance becomes usable earlier.

The question for a daily commuter is simple: Which transfer works today? Keep using existing bus stops and station exits until LTA announces new services and the interchange’s operation. The question for a visitor is similar: Which named building is open and where is its entrance today? Check the business and station information on the day of travel.

Frequently asked questions

Is Beauty World Integrated Transport Hub operating in October 2026?

No. The new hub is a planned facility, while the MRT and current surface bus network are already in service. The reported 2028 opening target is provisional.

Is the redeveloped Bukit Timah Market reopening in 2027?

Not according to URA’s June 2026 planning page, which states a 2029 target for the new integrated community facility. Use the interim market location if you are visiting before redevelopment is complete.

Is The LINQ @ Beauty World the same thing as Bukit V?

No. They are different developments in the wider Beauty World area. Do not treat a mall, residential development, bus interchange and community building as interchangeable names.
