2027 SEC Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati and Panjabi: G2 and G3 Codes for Private Candidates

Three learners review open books together at a classroom table, with stacks of textbooks, stationery and a whiteboard in the bright room.

SEAB lists Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Panjabi and Urdu in the 2027 SEC private-candidate directories at both G2 and G3. Each language has a different code at each level. For example, Hindi is K241 at G2 and K360 at G3. Write down the language, intended level and 2027 code together before choosing a syllabus or arranging preparation.

Next, open the syllabus from the relevant directory row. Check how your language and level are assessed and what instructions apply to registration. If you plan to use the result for a particular requirement, ask the receiving institution how it treats the exact qualification and level.

  • Confirm the language and level you intend to enter.
  • Copy the 2027 code from the private-candidate directory.
  • Open the syllabus linked from that row.
  • Check each paper and the materials rules.
  • Match the official registration record to your plan once available.

Compare the entries by language

  • Bengali — G2 K239 and G3 K358.
  • Gujarati — G2 K240 and G3 K359.
  • Hindi — G2 K241 and G3 K360.
  • Panjabi — G2 K242 and G3 K361.
  • Urdu — G2 K243 and G3 K362.

SEAB uses the spelling Panjabi in these tables. Search using the title or code if materials you already have use another spelling. If an older resource uses a GCE code, check the previous-code column and then compare its contents with the current syllabus. A code reference helps you trace the resource. The current syllabus determines the assessment requirements.

Build practice around the actual papers

Make a row for every paper or component described in the syllabus. Record the task, response format and any materials instructions. Try a short practice task and notice where the difficulty lies. A candidate may understand a passage but write slowly, or speak comfortably while needing practice with written conventions.

Use the observation to choose your next exercise. For example, if you can identify an answer in the passage but struggle to explain it in writing, practise short written responses to a few relevant prompts. Compare the result with the instructions for your syllabus. Check exam-year rules separately for any permitted dictionary or other item.

Worked example

A student has older Urdu material and intends to enter at G2. They find K243 in SEAB’s 2027 private list and read the syllabus for it. They keep exercises that suit the current tasks, mark older materials with their original year and use the current syllabus to decide which components need fresh practice.
