SEAB says GCE private candidates can change their preferred examination payment method if they have not paid online and the registration period is still open. Use the methods permitted for your examination year and check the official payment cutoff.
If your bank shows a charge or the portal status is unclear, verify what happened before trying another payment. Keep any reference and contact SEAB promptly if the status remains unresolved.
- Check that registration is still open.
- Verify whether payment has already been made.
- Select an allowed payment method.
- Confirm the portal status after payment.
If you have not paid
Return to the official registration process for the intended exam and check the options it gives you. SEAB’s 2026 GCE instructions listed credit or debit card and PayNow. Check the current registration information for your own examination year.
For example, a candidate who initially selected a card option can change the preferred method while still unpaid and within the registration period, provided the new method is available for that exercise.

If you see a charge or unclear status
Check the entry and the payment reference. If they do not agree, ask SEAB what to do before attempting another transaction. A change of preferred payment method and a query about an existing payment are different tasks.
After paying, check the registration confirmation guide for the official Registered status check.
