SEAB says school and private candidates cannot use Edusave or Post-Secondary Education Account funds to pay GCE-Level examination fees. Check the payment route for your candidate type and examination year.
Private candidates should use the current SEAB registration instructions. School candidates should follow the school’s instructions for any applicable fee. A rule about how an education account can be used does not determine which examination charges apply to a particular candidate.
- Check whether you are a school or private candidate.
- Find the fee information for your exam year.
- Use only the payment route specified for your entry.
- Keep the official confirmation or receipt.
If you are a private candidate
SEAB’s 2026 GCE registration page directed private candidates to use credit or debit card or PayNow in the Candidates Portal. Use the instructions for the cycle in which you are registering and confirm the amount and deadline before paying.
After payment, check that the portal shows your registration as complete. See the GCE registration confirmation guide for the separate portal status check.

If you are a school candidate
Ask the school which charges, if any, apply and how it wants payment to be made. Use the notice for your cohort, since another candidate’s payment instructions may concern a different registration route.
For example, if you are paying a private institution for a preparation course as well as registering for an exam, check which payment is the course fee and which is the SEAB examination fee. Ask each organisation about its own charge and payment process.

What if the payment window is closing?
Check the official cutoff and use a permitted payment method. If you encounter a payment issue, contact the school or SEAB promptly with the relevant reference and examination details. Keep any acknowledgement.
