Garden Rhapsody December 2026: Gardens by the Bay Light Show Times and Free Viewing

Marina Bay Sands illuminated at night in Singapore.

Garden Rhapsody normally starts at 7.45pm and 8.45pm daily at Gardens by the Bay. From 27 November to 11 December 2026 and again from 31 December to 3 January 2027, the Gardens adds a 9.35pm show. From 23 to 27 December there are four starts: 7.10pm, 7.45pm, 8.45pm and 9.35pm.

During Christmas Wonderland, the Gardens says ticket holders can watch from Supertree Grove and directs visitors without a festival ticket to vantage points at World of Plants. Choose the date and viewing area before travelling. Garden Rhapsody has a separate schedule from Borealis.

  • 12–22 December and 28–30 December use the regular 7.45pm and 8.45pm times under the published schedule.
  • Christmas Day is within the four-show period, 23–27 December.
  • During Wonderland, look for free viewing from World of Plants if you do not have a festival ticket.
  • Use the latest Gardens notice for changes on the day.

What time is Garden Rhapsody in December 2026?

The official Garden Rhapsody schedule gives 7.45pm and 8.45pm as the daily starts. It adds different slots for selected festive dates. Use the table to find your date, then confirm the live listing before setting off. An additional 9.35pm start in one part of December does not make it a nightly option across the whole month.

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day

All three dates fall in the 23–27 December range. The first listed start is 7.10pm. That can be useful for families who want an earlier return, but leave time for the walk and for finding your viewing area. If you eat before the show, set a time to leave the restaurant. If a group travels separately, choose a meeting point before it gets busy.

New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day

Both dates fall in the later range with the extra 9.35pm show. Check the transport and crowd arrangements independently, especially if you are also planning to see the Marina Bay countdown. A later light show and a countdown event can involve different venues, walks and return options. Use the published times for each separately.

Where to watch Garden Rhapsody free during Christmas Wonderland

The Gardens lists Garden Rhapsody as free under normal arrangements and notes that ticketed events can affect access to Supertree Grove. Its seasonal notice directs visitors without a Christmas Wonderland ticket to vantage points at World of Plants. If your plan is a free visit, start with the public route there rather than following the festival ticket queue.

Are the views the same?

World of Plants and Supertree Grove give different viewpoints. Follow current signs and staff instructions. How much you can see can depend on where you stand, crowd conditions and the path you use. If children or shorter visitors are coming, choose a place with a workable view and room to leave without crossing a packed area.

What does a Wonderland ticket cover?

Use the Christmas Wonderland guide and official ticket listing for the separate festival admission, attractions and conditions. If part of your group has a ticket and part does not, agree whether everyone will use the public viewpoint or meet before or after the show. A general message saying “see you at the Supertrees” can send people to different access points.

Garden Rhapsody versus Borealis

Garden Rhapsody is the Supertree music and light show. Borealis is the aurora-inspired outdoor installation with its own days, start times and rain policy. The December Borealis guide gives its separate timetable. If you are seeing both, check that each is running on your date.

Could you watch both from the same area?

The Gardens identifies public World of Plants viewpoints during Wonderland for visitors without a festival ticket. Confirm the current route and viewing instructions for each show. Do not assume that a spot you used on a previous visit will remain available. If the starts are close together, choose the arrangement that avoids rushing a child or older visitor through the crowd.

Which show should a family choose?

Start with the time everyone can comfortably reach. Garden Rhapsody’s earlier dates or starts can suit a family that does not want to stay late. Borealis may interest a group looking for the aurora-inspired effect. If your group is coming mainly for a late show, check the journey home and any weather or venue notices before leaving.

How to get to the light show and leave after it

Use the Gardens visitor directions and set the viewing area as your destination. Bayfront Exit B leads towards Bayfront Plaza. Follow the map towards World of Plants or the appropriate ticketed entrance. A Gardens MRT station and a specific Supertree viewpoint are different points on the trip.

Leave time between dinner and the show

Allow for the outdoor walk, crossings and finding a place to stand. If a visitor uses a mobility aid or needs a quieter route, check current access before setting off. Decide where to regroup if someone arrives late. The header photograph shows the surrounding Marina Bay area at night.

Make the later return simple

Check your final useful MRT connection, including transfers, before choosing a 9.35pm start. If using a taxi or pickup, select an agreed legal point and leave time to walk there. A single light show can be the whole evening. Keep optional stops flexible on nights with larger crowds.

Choose the showtime that fits your evening

The earliest option during Christmas week

From 23 to 27 December, the published 7.10pm start can suit families who want to leave early. Check that everyone knows the correct viewpoint and reaches it in time. A late meal or a longer indoor attraction visit can make the earliest slot tight. In that case, choose a later advertised start rather than hurrying through the Gardens.

The Christmas Special programme

The Gardens lists The Christmas Special from 27 November to 3 January, with a festive soundtrack. That programme window and the additional showtime windows answer different questions. A December date can be part of the festive programme while still having only the two regular starts. Use the date table when choosing a time.

When relatives have different tickets

Tell each person whether you are meeting in a public area or inside a ticketed area. If some have Wonderland admission, they can use the Supertree Grove viewing arrangements listed by the Gardens. If you want everyone to watch together without buying more tickets, plan around the public viewpoint instead. Agree on a meeting place for the trip home.

A short outing after work

Choose one show and a simple meal plan. Check the weather and any published changes before leaving. Allow enough time to get from Bayfront Plaza to your viewing point. For a group that expects to stay for a second event, check whether its own timetable and route fit before asking everyone to wait.
