Choose a session and register on arrival

Check the Gallery’s Building Highlights page for the date and language you want. Head straight to the Padang Atrium counter when you arrive. Ask staff to confirm availability and where to meet after registration.

If you have a tight schedule, check your walking time from the MRT before choosing a session. The Gallery’s 30-minute registration guidance is separate from the time it takes to reach the counter.

What the building tour covers

The tour introduces two former civic buildings and explains how they became one arts venue. As you walk, compare the building details the guide points out with the spaces used for exhibitions today.

The tour is a useful first stop for people interested in architecture or Singapore history. Ask the guide what the building was used for before its conversion, and look for traces of that earlier purpose.

Plan a Gallery visit around the tour

No admission ticket is required for this tour, according to the Gallery. Ticketed exhibitions have separate admission rules. If you are visiting a particular exhibition after the tour, check which ticket it requires.

Ask Visitor Services about the route if you need step-free access or would like to know how much walking is involved. If a tour is full, use the Gallery’s current list of accessible public spaces to plan a shorter visit.
