Go to Level 1 of Punggol Regional Library for the Toy Library and Tinker Tots. NLB’s visitor guide describes an accessible area where children can play with educational toys and dress up. The library is inside One Punggol at 1 Punggol Drive, next to Sam Kee LRT (PW1).
Plan to use the materials on site and put them back after playing. If a particular activity or item is important to your visit, check the current arrangements with the library. For a first outing, one toy and one short book can be enough.
- Location: Level 1, Punggol Regional Library.
- Getting there: One Punggol, beside Sam Kee LRT (PW1).
- What to expect: Toys and dress-up materials for use in the space.
- First visit: Choose one activity and leave time to return the materials.
Find the Level 1 play area
Follow the signs into Punggol Regional Library and use the Level 1 directory. The Toy Library and Tinker Tots sit within a floor with other children’s and accessibility features. Check the library’s current hours and ask staff if a programme or maintenance affects access.

If your child likes knowing what comes next, preview NLB’s social story before leaving. You can show the entrance, the play area and how the visit will end. Keep extra stops optional until you see how the child is settling in.

Choose one toy and give the child time
Let the child choose an available toy or costume. If it involves matching, sorting or pretend play, start with a simple question about what they want to do. Give them time to explore before adding instructions.
For an adult and child playing together, take turns adding one idea. A small child may want to repeat the same action several times. An older sibling can help by describing what happened rather than taking over.
Before moving on, check that the set is complete and return it as directed. If a toy is in use, choose another activity or a short reading break. Ask staff how any item-specific rules apply.

Pair play with a short reading stop
Look for a book linked to what the child just enjoyed. A child who chose a costume might like a story about a character with a similar role. A child who sorted objects might enjoy a picture book that invites them to notice shapes or colours.
Set a clear finish. You might play, put the materials back and read one book before heading home. If a child needs a pause, use the visitor information and ask about an appropriate quiet option.
Spark!Lab and scheduled story activities are separate. Check their level, age and entry arrangements if you plan to include them. A short Level 1 visit can be complete on its own.
