Can You Reuse Cambridge English Results for AEIS or S-AEIS Primary?

Three primary students in matching blue pinafores work together over open books at a classroom table, with colourful stationery and lesson notes on a whiteboard.

You may be able to reuse your child’s Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) result for a later AEIS or S-AEIS Primary application if it meets the new exercise’s requirements. SEAB says the result must be submitted during the application and that a previous result may be considered for the next exercise if the CEQ test was taken within 12 months before the application submission month. Check the current exercise’s published date rule, accepted test and score before relying on it.

There are two dates to manage. The date your child sat the test affects whether the result is recent enough. The date you can access the statement of results affects whether you can submit it in time. A test booking or certificate arriving later cannot stand in for the required statement during the application.

  • Identify the exact exercise, intake and primary level.
  • Match the current accepted CEQ test and score to your child’s result.
  • Check the date the test was taken against the new exercise’s published window.
  • Download the statement of results and check the personal details.
  • Plan backwards from the application period if your child needs another sitting.

Check the current exercise before opening the old file

Open the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) and Ministry of Education (MOE) instructions for the exercise you intend to use. Note the exact exercise title and year. A document for the 2026 main AEIS, for example, gives the evidence requirements for that exercise. The next supplementary exercise may use a different reference period.

Verify your child’s age and intended primary level using the current criteria. Then write down the required CEQ qualification and score for that application. The first question is whether your child meets the criteria for the route. The second is whether the result you already have satisfies the evidence requirements. Answer them in that order.

Check the two dates on separate lines

The test date

Use the actual sitting date and the exercise-specific instructions. SEAB’s FAQ refers to when the test was taken and the month of submission. Its July 2026 AEIS application procedures, for example, requested a relevant CEQ statement for a test taken from July 2025 for the 2026 AEIS Primary application. Use that as an example of an exercise-specific instruction, then check the one governing your own application.

If your test date sits at the boundary and the instructions leave you unsure, ask SEAB about that date and exercise. State when your child took the test and the application you intend to submit. Avoid using the certificate issue date or the date the result became visible as a substitute for the sitting date.

The statement availability date

A child may take the correct test in time but receive the statement of results after the application closes. SEAB’s published FAQ says the result must be submitted during the application. Before booking a sitting, ask the test provider when the statement is expected and leave room for access or document problems. If results are still pending, plan from the official dates and ask SEAB about any uncertainty before committing to the application.

Use a one-page evidence check

Record the following information together before you upload anything.

  • Exercise and intake. Copy the names and dates from the current official instructions.
  • Child’s intended level. Check the age reference and available levels for that exercise.
  • Required test and score. Compare the exact published requirement with the statement.
  • Actual sitting date. Compare it with the official accepted date or month range.
  • Document. Confirm you have the statement of results and can open it clearly.
  • Identity details. Check the child’s name and other particulars against the application documents.

SEAB’s 2026 AEIS procedures requested the CEQ statement of results for primary applicants and said the Cambridge certificate itself did not need to be submitted. Follow the instructions for your own exercise. If your child’s name appears differently on the statement and passport, ask the issuing body or SEAB how to handle it, using the official channel.

Worked examples

The old result meets the timing rule

A child took CEQ before an earlier application and the parent wants to use the result again. The parent checks the new exercise’s date rule, then matches the qualification and score for the child’s intended level. The sitting date looks eligible. The family still checks the document itself and saves the required statement before the submission window opens.

If one condition is unclear, the parent asks about that condition specifically. This prevents a reply about timing from being treated as confirmation that the qualification or score meets the new requirement as well.

A new sitting may produce its results too late

Another family sees an available CEQ sitting near the end of the application period. They check the result-release schedule with the test provider before booking. The estimated statement date is after the planned application deadline, so the family checks the next possible intake and what it can do in the meantime. They also confirm whether an earlier result already meets the current rules.

The child keeps practising with a steady schedule while the adults resolve the dates. A clear calendar helps the family avoid paying for a sitting that cannot produce the evidence by the required time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I submit the CEQ statement after my AEIS Primary application?

SEAB’s FAQ says the results must be submitted during the AEIS or S-AEIS Primary application. Plan from the current submission window and the expected statement date.

Is a result that is recent enough always acceptable?

Check the required qualification, score and child’s intended level as well. Timing is only one requirement.

Is the certificate the same as the statement of results?

They are separate documents. SEAB’s 2026 AEIS procedure asked for the relevant statement of results and did not require the certificate. Use the document specified for the current exercise.

What if the result is already available but I cannot download it?

Contact the test provider through its official route and check how to obtain the statement. If the application deadline is close, contact SEAB about the application question while you work on the download.
