Chapter 1 of 4

Which S$15, S$18 or S$21 price applies?

The advertised S$15 starting price is Esplanade’s limited JOYears special. Use the official event booking to check whether the offer is available and whether your account is eligible. Standard admission is S$21. Two standard tickets would be S$42 at the published prices. Compare the live basket before making payment.

The limited S$18 group rate is for a minimum of 20. Esplanade directs group bookings to its box office at 6828 8389 or boxoffice@esplanade.com. Twenty tickets would be S$360 at that rate, compared with S$420 at the published standard price, before any checkout charges that apply. Confirm availability and seating for your party with the box office.

The event is also listed as eligible for the SG Culture Pass. Esplanade tells eligible users to choose the Culture Pass option at the shopping-cart stage. Check what applies to your order. If you are buying for several people, keep a simple record of the seats and payment so each person knows what they need at the entrance.

What Relaxed Environment and Assistive Listening mean

Esplanade describes Relaxed Environment as suitable for people who may need to move, make noise or use the toilet during the show. Its guidance says the performance itself is presented without modifications. If someone needs a specific adjustment or a plan to step out and return, ask the venue how the Concert Hall will handle it for this programme.

Esplanade says its assistive listening system works with Telecoil-enabled hearing aids and asks people who need setup support to arrive 30 minutes early. For the 3pm performance, that means planning to reach the venue around 2.30pm. Confirm the assistance point and compatibility before the day if the system affects your decision to attend.

Check accessible seating with the box office if you need space for a wheelchair, an aisle or a seat that avoids stairs. Share the event title and the date when asking. The venue has accessible lifts and washrooms, while your route inside the Concert Hall depends on the seat you hold.

What the Mandarin concert includes

Tandy Lim’s programme draws on popular songs from the 1940s through the 1980s. The organiser gives examples from Zhou Xuan, Li Xiang-lan, Yao Su-jung and Louise Tsuei. These are good starting points for a visitor who wants to hear some of the repertoire before attending. The event listing describes a one-hour show without an interval.

An intergenerational group can choose one recording to listen to together before the outing. Ask somebody who remembers the era where they first heard it. Another person can listen for the melody or the pace of the arrangement. That gives both people a way into the afternoon even if they recognise different songs.

The listing includes one complimentary packet of beverage per ticket. Follow the venue’s instructions for where and when it is provided. If your group wants a longer lunch or tea, make that a separate plan and leave enough time to reach your seats before 3pm.

Get to Esplanade Concert Hall and allow time to settle

Esplanade MRT on the Circle Line and City Hall MRT on the North-South and East-West lines are both practical approaches. The arts centre provides indoor and outdoor walking directions and a separate Concert Hall wayfinding guide. Use the full venue name when giving directions to someone who has not visited before.

For a taxi, Esplanade lists the mall taxi stand at 8 Raffles Avenue. If an easier drop-off or a shorter step-free route matters, check the access map and ask the venue which approach suits your party. The quickest route on a map may be less comfortable for a visitor who needs time to walk or get to a lift.

If you are organising a senior group, choose a meeting point inside the centre and give attendees the date, performance time and Concert Hall name in one message. Keep time for toilets and seating before the show. The scheduled hour makes it practical to plan a meal before or after without needing to rush between the two.
