Mind OS Sensor: Judgement Quality (Canonical)

Judgement Quality measures whether decisions match reality.

Judgement is not intelligence.

Judgement is calibration.

Bad judgement creates recurring failures even when effort is high.

This sensor checks whether the mind is accurately choosing what matters and what to do next.

What This Sensor Measures

Judgement Quality measures:

Calibration (confidence matches correctness)
Error recognition speed (how fast you notice you are wrong)
Decision consistency (same input leads to similar output)
Priority accuracy (choosing the right task at the right time)
Inversion ability (can you avoid the obvious mistake by thinking backwards)

How to Read This Sensor

Healthy signal

You choose the right problems more often
You change your mind quickly when evidence changes
You predict outcomes reasonably well
You avoid repeated preventable mistakes
You can explain your reasoning cleanly

Danger signal

High confidence with wrong outcomes
Same mistakes repeat with different excuses
You chase urgent noise over important work
You over-correct emotionally and swing between extremes
You cannot explain why you chose a path

Thresholds

Level 1: Calibrated judgement

Choices consistently improve outcomes, confidence matches results

Level 2: Mild miscalibration

Occasional wrong calls, corrections happen quickly

Level 3: Poor calibration

Mistakes recur, priorities are unstable

Level 4: Reactive judgement

Decisions driven by emotion and noise, outcomes degrade

Level 5: Judgement collapse

Chronic wrong choices, repair and learning stall

Minimum Viable Test

For 7 days:

Make one small prediction per day
Write what you think will happen and why
Check outcome next day

If your predictions never improve, judgement calibration is not learning.

Repair Actions

Reduce noise and fatigue first
https://edukatesg.com/mind-sensor-noise/
https://edukatesg.com/medical-sensor-sleep/

Use inversion: ask “what would cause failure?” then avoid it
Use the recurrence test: if the same mistake repeats, your judgement loop is not repairing
After action review: one sentence on what you learned and what you will change

Canonical Statement

Judgement Quality measures calibration. If judgement is miscalibrated, the system repeats the same failures even with high effort.
