For the 2027 SEC G3 Malay (Special Programme) syllabus, use K365. To check a Malay Special Programme listening answer, identify the detail the question needs and listen for its relationship to the rest of the message. Pay attention to a correction, contrast or condition rather than choosing the first familiar word. Did you know that an announcement can mention two venues while directing listeners to only one? The answer follows the message’s meaning, not merely a word you recognised.
Use one teacher-approved Malay recording and a specific listening question. After answering, explain what in the recording supports the choice. During practice, use permitted replay or a transcript to locate a misunderstanding; those learning supports do not imply that the same controls are available in an examination.

Malay Special Programme K365 is separate from G3 Malay K321 and Higher Malay K356. Check the registered subject and year with the school. This English-language guide explains a listening habit; its fictional announcement is not a Malay recording, a translated examination extract or an official question.
For the wider context, open the G3 Malay (Special Programme) subject overview. Keep the confirmed subject, current school topic and teacher’s next suggested task in one place.
| Paper | Time | Marks / weight |
|---|---|---|
| 1: Functional Writing and Essay | 1 hour 45 minutes | 20 / 20% |
| 2: Language Usage and Comprehension | 1 hour 15 minutes | 30 / 30% |
| 3: Oral component | See school’s official arrangements; 10-minute preparation | 30 / 30% |
| 3: Listening component | About 30 minutes | 20 / 20% |
Listening comprehension comprises 15 multiple-choice questions based on seven authentic extracts of different genres, including announcements and advertisements. Four extracts are short. The component lasts about 30 minutes and contributes 20% of the subject result; oral contributes 30%. Use school instructions for the actual administration.

If the student knows individual words but misses the message, discuss how the details connect. If the first mentioned detail is selected even after a correction, practise tracking the updated information. If the detail was never understood, check the relevant Malay expression with the teacher before treating the problem as carelessness.
Choose one task that felt manageable and one that needs help. Discuss the difference using the student’s actual work. Ask the teacher to clarify an uncertain requirement before treating it as a learning weakness.
Try this original English listening illustration by having a partner read it aloud: “The reading session was planned for the hall. Because the hall is being repaired, the session will now take place in the library. The starting time is unchanged.” Where should participants go, and what information about the time is actually provided?
Participants should go to the library. The hall is the earlier plan, not the final venue. The message says the starting time is unchanged, but gives no actual clock time; a listener should not invent one. This illustrates tracking a change and respecting missing information. Practise the same reasoning separately with teacher-approved Malay audio.
Before a practice listen, clarify whether the question concerns a person, place, action, reason or time. Afterwards, explain why the selected answer fits and why an alternative does not. Use brief notes only where the practice instructions allow them. Keep language learning connected to meaning rather than relying on isolated keyword matching.
Use another recording with a different kind of contrast or condition. Check whether the student can track the relevant detail without your prompt. Ask the teacher whether the difficulty lies in vocabulary, sentence meaning or retaining information. Keep oral, reading and writing in the learning plan alongside listening.
The Secondary 1 Mathematics learning guide offers a principle useful across subjects: identify the foundation, practise in a sensible sequence and use corrections to choose the next step. Apply that habit here through a task the student can explain and revisit.
