Did you know that PG1, PG2 and PG3 cannot, on their own, tell you which SEAB syllabus to download? Posting Group guides Secondary 1 entry. The syllabus follows the student’s actual subject, G1/G2/G3 level, examination year and candidate type. A student can study different subjects at different G-levels.
For 2027 SEC school candidates, use the official G1, G2 or G3 list and match the exact subject code. This directory covers the subjects in all three lists, including specialist languages and electives. The MOE–ITE Applied Subjects listed alongside G1 syllabuses are labelled separately because their PDFs specify joint MOE–ITE certification rather than SEC certification.
Find English and languages, Mathematics and Science, Humanities or electives. If you are still sorting out the levels, start with the Posting Group and subject-level guide; if the PDF feels dense, use How do I read a SEAB syllabus?.
Scope: Checked 9 October 2026 against the 2027 SEAB school-candidate lists (updated 2 October 2026). Use the correct examination-year documents for other cohorts, and the applicable private-candidate list where relevant. School offerings and official arrangements govern individual decisions.

Understand and compare · Chapters 1–3
| Term | Its job | Your useful next action |
|---|---|---|
| PG1 / PG2 / PG3 | Secondary 1 posting and starting level of most subjects | Confirm the school’s actual subject offers |
| G1 / G2 / G3 | The level of an individual subject | Record the level beside each subject |
| SEAB syllabus | Examination content and assessment requirements | Match year, title, level, code and candidate type |
| SEC | Certificate reflecting subjects and levels sat from 2027 | Check the applicable examination and progression framework |
Under SEC, subject-level standards and grading structures remain differentiated. SEAB states that the overall examination standards do not change with the new certificate. The useful home record is therefore one row per subject, rather than one G-label for the entire child.
This directory handles the document-selection job. The existing PSLE-to-SEC Full SBB guide remains the broader explanation of the system. The immutable Secondary 1 Mathematics Tutor Clementi reference illustrates the learning principle used here: identify the student’s current demand and repair the precise foundation before adding speed or complexity.

Language subject, language Literature and Higher MTL are separate entries. The Literature entries appear in the Humanities table below. A special or third-language programme also needs its own eligibility and school arrangements; the list does not promise universal availability.
For writing and oral differences, open Can my child use O-Level English papers for SEC?. For Chinese, Malay, Tamil, Higher MTL and the written examination calendar, use the Mother Tongue subject guide.

Mathematics and Additional Mathematics have separate assessment schemes. A student offering both needs two sets of requirements. A-Math should not replace practice in the student’s ordinary Mathematics syllabus.
G3 is a level, while combined or separate Science describes the subject arrangement. Practical assessment also differs across the levels and subject types. Read the exact scheme before constructing a national-examination practice plan.
Use the Mathematics and A-Math syllabus guide for paper timings and an algebra check. Use Is G3 Science the same as pure Science? for the combinations and practical distinctions.

Combined Humanities pairs Social Studies with a specified elective under one code. Standalone Geography, History or Literature is a separate subject. In everyday conversation “Geography” can mean either arrangement, so ask for the full title.
For a component explanation, study method and subject-fit checklist, read What is the difference between combined and pure Humanities?. Confirm set texts and assessment instructions from the selected syllabus rather than a generic revision list.

Electronics is its own G3 subject; it should not be substituted with the separate MOE–ITE Smart Electrical Technology syllabus. Likewise, Exercise and Sports Science is a specific examination subject, rather than ordinary PE.
Assessment modes vary. Read the written, lab-based, portfolio, coursework or performance requirements before choosing an elective. A project deadline belongs on the family’s planning calendar just as much as a written paper date.
Start with Which SEC elective subjects can my child take? for Computing, Art, D&T, NFS, POA and specialist choices. Ask the school about facilities, prerequisites and supervision before committing to a resource or course.
| Entry on the 2027 registries | Code | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile Robotics | K130 | Joint MOE–ITE Applied Subject Certification; not SEC |
| Smart Electrical Technology | K131 | Joint MOE–ITE Applied Subject Certification; not SEC |
| Retail Operations | K132 | Joint MOE–ITE Applied Subject Certification; not SEC |
| Biotechnology | K375 | G3 SEC Applied Subject; approved schools only |
| Design Studies | K376 | G3 SEC Applied Subject; approved schools only |
The three MOE–ITE subjects are included here so the registry is fully navigable, while their certification stays explicit. Confirm with the school how the separate qualification is recorded and considered for progression.
SEAB restricts the listed applied subjects to schools approved to offer them. For the G3 applied entries, SEAB also states that examining-agency subject fees apply. Obtain the actual school arrangements and fee information rather than assuming a universal amount.
Write a confirmed subject profile. For each row, record the full title, actual level, examination year and code. Open the official list linked by that code, select the subject PDF and save it with a clear filename.
Next, read the assessment scheme and the school’s current learning sequence. Choose one topic or skill to improve, practise it and inspect the correction. The document should make the next learning action clearer, rather than become another large file nobody opens.
SEAB’s national subject lists do not cover every part of school life. Common learning, CCE, PE, CCAs and school programmes remain important even where they do not have an entry in these examination registries. Ask the school for the relevant curriculum and programme information.
For help interpreting papers, marks and coursework, finish with How do I read a SEAB syllabus?. For broader school and pathway decisions, return to the existing Full SBB master guide.
