Compare primary school Science teaching by asking how pupils investigate a question, use observations and explain what they have learned. A laboratory or garden is useful context; the learning that happens there is the more revealing question.
Cantonment Primary describes inquiry-based learning through questioning, investigation, evidence and explanation. Its published activities include planting and design challenges. These are examples of one school’s implementation, not a ranking or a promise about another school.
Before registration, ask for an ordinary lesson example and clarify which experiences are available to a whole cohort. Your child does not need to have chosen a future scientific career for you to explore how curiosity will be supported.

Ask the school to describe a recent Science investigation at the relevant level. What question did pupils explore, what did they observe and how did they discuss the results?
Follow the activity into the explanation. Ask how children connect an observation with a scientific idea, rather than stopping at a memorable demonstration or a finished model.
Request an example of what happens when observations differ from expectations. The discussion can help you see how teachers guide children to reconsider an idea and distinguish a result from a guess.
Find out how teachers help pupils describe observations precisely and support an explanation. Ask for a sample task showing what children are expected to notice, record or compare.
Ask how feedback addresses a pupil who knows a term but cannot explain what it means in context. This is a more specific question than whether the school provides many practice papers.
Clarify how parents learn about a recurring difficulty. Knowing whether the issue concerns understanding, reading the question or communicating reasoning makes the next discussion more useful.

Ask which activities form part of ordinary lessons and which involve selection. A school’s competition team does not describe the experience of every pupil.
Cantonment Primary distinguishes selected enrichment, including E2K Science, from its wider curriculum activities. Ask each shortlisted school how participation works for the incoming cohort.
Discuss how additional support or challenge is organised. Request examples and confirm any individual arrangements directly; a programme name cannot establish what will be offered to your child.

Write down comparable answers: an investigation example, guidance with explanations, participation and follow-up. Keep unanswered questions visible rather than filling them with impressions from photographs.
Include the school journey, homework expectations, care arrangements and rest. Interesting Science opportunities are one part of a school choice, alongside the ordinary routine your family will manage.
Use the primary open-house questions to complete the comparison. Look for a clear account of how children are guided to explore and understand.
