How Do I Prepare for Bahasa Indonesia Role-Play? | SEC K367 Everyday Transactions

Three students sit around open books and worksheets at a classroom table, reading, writing and discussing the work together.

For the 2027 SEC G3 Bahasa Indonesia as a Third Language syllabus, use K367. For Bahasa Indonesia role-play practice, understand the situation, listen to the question and communicate the information needed to complete the transaction. Did you know that a long answer about yourself may not help when someone is asking how many tickets you need? Prepare useful language for everyday exchanges, then practise adapting it to the actual question.

Choose a teacher-approved everyday scenario and identify the practical goal. Practise one question at a time, checking whether the answer supplies the requested information. Once the exchange is clear, change a detail so that the student must listen and respond rather than recite the same memorised line.

Need the format? Open the assessment table. Looking for immediate help? Use the starting questions and the original example. Then choose a practice step, or visit the all-subject directory.

Match the subject and document

Back to contents

Confirm G3 Bahasa Indonesia as a Third Language K367 and use its 2027 format. It is a distinct subject, not Malay Special Programme or Mother Tongue Malay. This English-language guide explains interaction planning; use teacher-approved Bahasa Indonesia practice for actual expression and language accuracy.

For the wider context, open the G3 Bahasa Indonesia as a Third Language subject overview. Keep the confirmed subject, current school topic and teacher’s next suggested task in one place.

Paper 3 includes one role-play and conversations on two topics. The role-play involves five transactional questions. During preparation, notes may be made on separate paper, but that paper cannot be taken into the examination room; candidates cannot write on the card. Dictionaries are not allowed in any component.

Open the official SEAB syllabus for the full requirements. Use that document with the school’s instructions when preparing assessment work.

CHAPTER 3 OF 5

Choose the next learning need

Back to contents

If the student understands the situation but misses the requested quantity or time, focus on the question’s demand. If the information is correct but hard to understand, work on expression with the teacher. If only a memorised scenario can be answered, vary the details while keeping the everyday context familiar.

Choose one task that felt manageable and one that needs help. Discuss the difference using the student’s actual work. Ask the teacher to clarify an uncertain requirement before treating it as a learning weakness.

CHAPTER 4 OF 5

Try an original example

Back to contents

Try this original role-play planning exercise: a student wants to join a community drawing session. A partner asks which session the student wants, how many places are needed and whether the student has attended before. Decide what information each answer must provide, then practise suitable responses in Bahasa Indonesia. This is not an official role-play card.

The first answer identifies the session, the second gives a number of places and the third answers the experience question. A paragraph about enjoying art does not necessarily supply those details. The response should fit the specific request. If you change the number of people attending, the student must adjust that information rather than repeat the earlier answer.

Plan practice and review

Back to contents

Practise brief transactions, then switch roles so the student also notices what makes a question clear. Check familiar structures and pronunciation with teacher guidance. Use planning notes as a learning support when appropriate, but practise without relying on them before treating the exchange as independently secure.

Try a new everyday setting and ask whether the same listening-and-response habit transfers. Notice relevant information and clear communication, not only speed. Maintain topic-conversation practice as well as listening, reading and writing; a role-play is one part of the four-paper subject.

The Secondary 1 Mathematics learning guide offers a principle useful across subjects: identify the foundation, practise in a sensible sequence and use corrections to choose the next step. Apply that habit here through a task the student can explain and revisit.
