Make notes when you need to clarify, organise, or compress what you are learning; practise questions when you need to test whether you can retrieve and use it. Notes can build a cleaner model, but they do not prove that the knowledge will appear when the book is closed.
A useful study loop is short explanation, brief notes if needed, then questions without support. Mark the work, identify what failed, and return to the notes only for the part that needs repair. This prevents note-making from becoming a substitute for performance.
Use the Study & Learning Methods Hub for retrieval, revision, and practice design. For exam-shaped work, continue to the Examinations & Assessment Hub.
