Small Batch Café: Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden Hours and Family Visit Guide

Entrance to Jacob Ballas Children's Garden at Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Small Batch is beside Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden at 1H Cluny Road, #01-K1, Singapore 259604. Its official schedule is Tuesday–Friday, 8am–5pm, and Saturday–Sunday, 8am–6pm; Mondays are closed except public holidays.

The café and Children’s Garden have separate arrangements. A meal plan does not establish eligibility to enter the garden, and the garden’s later closing time does not extend café service.

This guide focuses on a practical café stop, with the garden treated as an optional activity to plan separately.

SECTION 1 OF 5

1. Choose café time around the family

Our suggested approach is to decide whether food comes before or after play, then leave enough time for both. Avoid promising a café meal after checking only the garden’s closing time.

Small Batch describes food including sourdough, pasta and bakes. Review the current menu and ask about availability rather than treating a general description as an all-day stock list.

2. Keep garden admission separate

NParks describes the garden as designed for children up to 14. Adults normally enter with a child; adults without children must consult the Service Desk.

NParks currently lists the Tree House as temporarily closed. If a particular play feature is the main reason for going, check the latest notice rather than relying on photographs from an older visit.

3. Check the whole arrival route

The café’s own FAQ says it is wheelchair accessible from the carpark and identifies accessible restroom access. Confirm any particular needs with the venue before travelling.

For an MRT arrival, our Botanic Gardens station guide helps with orientation. Include the outdoor walk to the specific café address in your plan.

SECTION 4 OF 5

4. Ask precise dietary and pet questions

Small Batch calls its offering halal-friendly. That wording alone does not establish current independent certification; if certification is important to your group, verify it before booking.

The café’s FAQ says pets are not welcome. Ask staff directly about ingredients or allergy-related preparation, and keep those questions separate from the overall food concept.

5. Finish before the day becomes a rush

Choose one main activity and keep the rest flexible. A meal followed by a short garden visit may suit one family, while another will prefer to eat and head home.

For reservations, follow the café’s official booking link and check the confirmation. For garden access, use the current NParks page and onsite instructions; each operator answers a different part of the outing.
