To request a review of mid-year GCE Mother Tongue Language results, SEAB says to submit the application and make payment within five working days from results release. School candidates go through their school. Private candidates apply and pay through the Candidates Portal.
Ask the school or check the official release notice for the exact cutoff and fee. Keep the mid-year result, any review request and any planned year-end entry as separate records.
- Identify the subject and mid-year sitting.
- Check the exact appeal deadline for your release.
- Use the payment and submission route for your candidate type.
- Keep the confirmation and check how you will receive the outcome.
If you are a school candidate
Contact your school as soon as you are considering a review. Ask where to submit the request, which subject details to include and how to complete payment. Use the school’s instructions for the precise deadline.
If a parent is helping, agree who will submit and pay. Check any acknowledgement so you know whether the school still needs something from you.

If you are a private candidate
Sign in to the official Candidates Portal and follow the instructions for the mid-year results review. Check the subject and payment details before submitting. SEAB says late applications after the deadline are not accepted.
If a technical problem prevents submission, contact SEAB promptly using the official route and keep the details of the issue. Ask what to do before the deadline.

Keep the year-end decision separate
A mid-year review concerns the grade already issued. If you also intend to enter a year-end sitting, check its separate registration instructions. See the GCE Mother Tongue certificate guide for the published better-grade rule when both applicable written sittings are taken.
