Before using a practice paper as a 2027 PSLE mock, check the official SEAB format for the examination year and exact subject. Compare the paper structure, timing, response types and permitted equipment. Use a paper as targeted practice when only some questions match.
The 2026 format list, for example, identifies Standard Mathematics as 0008 and Foundation Mathematics as 0038. It gives them separate documents. Use the 2027 format when SEAB publishes it for your sitting and check the candidate instructions from your school.
- Identify the subject and level.
- Check the SEAB format for the intended exam year.
- Compare the practice paper’s sections and equipment rules.
- Time a full paper only when it is a close match.
Make a short comparison before you begin
Write down the subject code, paper number, sections, timing and permitted equipment from the official format. Compare them with the practice set. A cover marked Primary 6 can still contain a school paper, a topical worksheet or a paper designed for an earlier syllabus.
If you do not yet have the confirmed format for your year, use available materials to practise relevant skills and check the current instructions before relying on them for a full rehearsal.

Use older questions for a specific purpose
A question can still help a child practise a skill even if the complete paper has a different format. For example, select older problems that match the current skill you want to work on. Save timed practice for a paper that also matches the number and type of questions and the relevant equipment rules.
