Definition Lock

AI Perfect Rewrite Trap = using AI to rewrite the child’s work into a “perfect” paragraph that sounds smooth, advanced, and error-free—but removes the child’s voice and skill growth.

It looks helpful because the output improves instantly.
But it’s harmful because the child learns:

“My writing is not good enough.”
“The correct version comes from outside me.”
“I don’t need to think; I need to copy.”

Core failure: Perfect output can destroy skill ownership.

1) What this looks like (Symptoms)

Parents often notice:

The child’s writing suddenly sounds “adult.”
Vocabulary becomes too formal or unnatural.
The child can’t explain why words were chosen.
The child stops trying (“AI can do it faster”).
When asked to write alone, they freeze or regress.
Compositions become consistent—but only with AI.
