Did you know that 2027 SEC G3 Burmese K369 uses one three-hour written paper? Composition, translation and reading comprehension are assessed together; dictionaries are not permitted.
A useful preparation plan keeps those different demands visible. Our suggested starting point is a small sample from each area, followed by teacher feedback on the exact difficulty. Confirm the registered subject and school arrangements before assembling resources.
Need the format? Jump to the assessment table. Planning the course? Read the family questions. Ready for a small next step? Try the example and the study routine, or open the all-subject directory.

Understand and plan
- Which course and resources should we confirm?
- What does the K369 assessment include?
- What should families ask before planning support?
Practise and review
Record the full registered course name and examination year. Ask the teacher which current materials match it before building a preparation folder.
Give each resource a specific job. Is it helping the learner understand a text, compose a message or review a correction? Our suggested test is to name the current learning need before adding another resource.
If your child enters Secondary 1 in 2027, follow the programme’s current teaching sequence and obtain the appropriate graduating-year examination document when available. This guide covers the 2027 examination cohort.
| Component | Duration | Allocation |
|---|---|---|
| A: Composition | Within the 3h paper | 50 marks |
| B: Translation | Within the 3h paper | 30 marks |
| C: Reading comprehension | Within the 3h paper | 20 marks |
The paper contributes 100% of the subject result. Candidates write two compositions of about 150 words each from five topics. Translation runs both ways: Burmese to English carries 10 marks and English to Burmese 20. Comprehension answers are written in Burmese.
Source: the official K369 syllabus. Read the full instructions with the teacher before attempting assessed or timed work.
Ask whether a difficulty begins with understanding the source message or with expressing it in the other language. A smooth-looking response can still convey a changed meaning.
Check which current texts the teacher recommends and how accuracy will be reviewed. A general phrasebook may have a useful purpose without matching an assessed task.
Verify registration and teaching arrangements with the school. Do not infer that a student may select this subject, or substitute it for another subject, from the public examination listing.
Our translation exercise starts with a short teacher-approved message. Identify who does what, when it happens and whether any condition or negative changes the meaning.
Draft the message in the other language using what has been taught. Compare it with the source: have you added certainty, omitted a condition or changed the person involved?
Have the teacher check both meaning and expression, then try a fresh message. This is an independent checking exercise, not a specimen passage or official marking method.
Keep a small record of meaning changes found during feedback. Label what changed, such as the actor, time, condition or degree of certainty.
Alongside translation, practise a short original response and a reading question from current course materials. Each activity should have its own goal.
Discuss how to build toward sustained timed work with the teacher. Do not assume that dividing practice time mechanically by marks will address the learner’s present needs.
