Did you know that SEAB uses the spelling Panjabi for the subject many families search for as Punjabi? The 2027 SEC G3 syllabus is K361, with two written papers.
Start with the registered course and a recent piece of work. Our suggested question is whether the learner needs help understanding a message, organising a response or expressing an idea clearly. That is more useful than choosing extra practice by volume alone.

Understand and plan

Practise and review
Record the full registered course name and examination year. Ask the teacher which current materials match it before building a preparation folder.
Give each resource a specific job. Is it helping the learner understand a text, compose a message or review a correction? Our suggested test is to name the current learning need before adding another resource.
If your child enters Secondary 1 in 2027, follow the programme’s current teaching sequence and obtain the appropriate graduating-year examination document when available. This guide covers the 2027 examination cohort.
| Component | Duration | Allocation |
|---|---|---|
| 1: Composition | 2h | 45% |
| 2: Language usage and comprehension | 1h 30min | 55% |
Composition includes a shorter functional response of about 120 words and an essay of about 200 words, using the prescribed choices. Paper 2 includes language usage, multiple-choice comprehension, open-ended comprehension and vocabulary.

Ask the teacher to identify the precise step that is not yet secure. Reading a sentence, interpreting its purpose and writing a suitable response may need different kinds of practice.
Confirm the approved subject registration, lesson arrangements and current learning materials with the school or provider. A subject listed by SEAB is not automatically an available option for every student.
Consider who will review written work and when corrections will be revisited. A small, dependable feedback routine gives a family something concrete to plan around.
Our independent exercise begins with a short message about a class event. Ask who needs the information and what the reader should understand or do after reading it.
Plan the essential details before drafting in language already taught. Ask the teacher to identify one unclear part, then revise that part and explain the improvement.
Change the audience or the event and write a fresh response. Check whether the learner can adapt the message rather than reproduce the first version. This is not an official functional-writing question.
Choose a short passage and a small writing activity from the teacher’s current materials. Give each a visible goal so the student knows what they are working on.
Keep a corrected example beside a fresh attempt. Ask the learner to explain which idea carried across and what had to change.
When the same obstacle returns, reduce the task to that step and obtain feedback. Build reliable understanding before increasing the length or speed of the work.
