Student Repair Router (Z0) — Singapore EducationOS

Three secondary students review open books and notes together in a classroom.

(Personal Diagnostic & Recovery Tool — JC / Poly / Uni)

Scope & Disclaimer

This page is a self-diagnosis and repair router for students in Singapore (JC/Poly/Uni) using EducationOS primitives.

  • Not a medical or psychological tool
  • Not an official MOE/SEAB/NUS/NTU/SMU system
  • Not “motivation advice”

It answers one operational question:

What exactly is breaking in my learning right now — and what is the smallest repair that restores stability?

Z0 Router Record (Almost-Code)

[ROUTER]
Place: SGP
Zoom: Z0 (Person)
Lane: EDU
Inputs: Symptoms, recent workload shape, time pressure events
Sensors: Phase(P0–P3), Load, Buffer, Drift
Outputs: Diagnosis, RepairRoute, RecheckWindow
Rule: One repair at a time. Verify in 7 days.
[/ROUTER]

How to Use (1 Minute)

  1. Identify your Phase (P0–P3)
  2. Match your dominant Symptom
  3. Apply the single repair exactly as written for 7 days
  4. Re-check using the “Repair Confirmation” sensor

Do not stack repairs. One lever at a time.

Step 1 — Identify Your Phase (P0–P3)

P3 — Breaking

  • freeze/avoidance/panic
  • can’t start even when you “know”
  • sleep is collapsing
➡ Jump to Emergency Repair at the bottom.

P2 — Struggling

  • working hard but inconsistent
  • errors increase under tests
  • output becomes messy or shallow
    ➡ Go to Step 2.

P1 — Stable but Fragile

  • okay in normal practice
  • breaks under time pressure / novel questions
    ➡ Go to Step 2.

P0 — Not Yet Online

  • can follow examples but can’t adapt
  • memorise without control
➡ Start with Transfer Gate Repair.

Step 2 — Match Your Dominant Symptom (Choose ONE)

Symptom A — “JC load is killing me; I can’t keep up”

Diagnosis:

  • Drift: Buffer Collapse / Congestion
  • Phase: P2 → P3 risk

Repair (7 days): JC Decongestion Week

  • cut non-core tasks 20–30%
  • stop chasing new content for 7 days
  • do consolidation only:
  • 1 weak-topic repair block per subject
  • 1 compression ladder per subject
  • enforce buffer ≥12h/week
  • protect sleep

Recheck: work should feel lighter within 7–10 days.

Symptom B — “I studied a lot but it didn’t stick”

Diagnosis:

  • Drift: Compression Failure
  • Phase: P1–P2

Repair (daily 10–15 min per module/subject): Compression Ladder

  1. Quote (key sentence/line)
  2. Paraphrase (same meaning)
  3. Abstract (general rule)
  4. Use (apply to new question/case)

If you can’t do Step 4, it’s not stable yet.

Symptom C — “I can do each topic, but I can’t integrate”

Diagnosis:

  • Drift: Synthesis Failure
  • Phase: P2

Repair (per essay/report/problem set): Frame→Tension→Resolution

  • Frame the question (what is being asked?)
  • Tension (what conflicts / trade-offs exist?)
  • Resolution (your position / method and why)

Write this before writing paragraphs/solutions.

Symptom D — “I break when the question changes”

(very common in H2 Math/Sciences and uni quant modules)

Diagnosis:

  • Drift: Template Reliance (P0/P1 fragility)

Repair: One-Condition-Changed Drill
For any method:

  • solve the standard question
  • change one condition
  • solve again
  • explain from first principles why it still works

If you can’t justify, you don’t own the method yet.

Symptom E — “NUS/NTU deadlines chain-react and I can’t recover”

Diagnosis:

  • Drift: Pipeline Congestion
  • Phase: P2

Repair (7 days): Pipeline Decongestion

  1. pick the top 2 deliverables that unlock the most marks/learning
  2. pause or reduce everything else 20–40% temporarily
  3. insert daily 30–60 min recovery slot for backlog trimming
  4. restore buffer + sleep first

Goal: stop cascade, regain control.

Symptom F — “SMU class: I understand but can’t speak clearly”

Diagnosis:

  • Drift: Argument Spine Loss + Social Load
  • Phase: P1–P2

Repair: 3-Minute Pre-Seminar Spine
Before class, write:

  1. thesis (one sentence)
  2. 3 dependent claims
  3. counterclaim
  4. revised conclusion

Add 2 × 15 min rehearsal blocks/week during participation-heavy weeks.

Step 3 — Repair Confirmation (Required)

After 7 days, check:

  • Is work lighter (not heavier)?
  • Did errors reduce in the same task type?
  • Can I apply ideas without rereading?
  • Did my buffer increase?

If yes → Phase upgrade
If no → wrong repair chosen → return to Step 2 and pick a different symptom

Do not add more practice until stability returns.

Emergency Repair (P3 Only) — 48 Hours

If you are freezing/panicking/avoiding:

  1. cut workload 50% immediately
  2. sleep and eat properly
  3. do one compression ladder per subject/module/day
  4. rebuild buffer first
  5. resume only after Phase returns to P2 or P1

You cannot repair learning while overloaded.

Canonical Failure Trace (Z0)

Trace:
load ↑ → buffer ↓ → drift signature appears → Phase degrades → late failure

This router exists to interrupt the chain early.
