Vocabulary OS – PSLE Instantiation Pack

(Almost-Code Canonical Spec + V1.1 Inserts)

This is the missing executable layer under your existing Vocabulary OS spine and FenceOS actuator layer.
It turns theory → weekly control loop → measurable output.

I. Definition Lock

Vocabulary (Operational Definition for PSLE)

Vocabulary = retrieval-ready semantic units that can be deployed under time pressure with correct tone, collocation, and context alignment.

Not:

  • Not word memorisation
  • Not synonym stacking
  • Not “fancy word” decoration
  • Not passive recognition

Mastery (P3):

  • Correct meaning
  • Correct tone
  • Correct collocation
  • Correct deployment under timed composition load

II. Architecture Overview

Vocabulary OS (Semantic Infrastructure)
FenceOS (Actuation + Control Loop)
PSLE Instantiation Pack (Executable Layer)

This page = executable layer.

III. Z0–Z3 Structure (PSLE Vocabulary)

Z0 – Word Unit

  • lemma
  • tone classification (neutral / positive / negative / formal / sensory)
  • collocation cluster
  • misuse traps

Z1 – Phrase Cluster

  • natural pairings
  • sensory pairing
  • emotional pairing
  • narrative pairing

Z2 – Scene Deployment

  • where the word fits
  • what narrative role it plays
  • what it must NOT be paired with

Z3 – Timed Output Stability

  • correct usage under 50–60 min composition
  • no semantic drift
  • no tone mismatch

IV. Top 50 PSLE FENCE Words (Phase-Selected)

Grouped by function (not alphabet).

1. Emotional Regulation

reluctant
uneasy
overwhelmed

3. Sensory & Environment

scorching

5. Recovery & Growth

realised
reflected
admitted
improved
forgave
learned
resolved
persevered

(You can expand to Top 100 later; this is the executable starter kernel.)

V. Collocation & Misuse Example (Z0 → Z2)

Example Word: reluctant

Correct:

  • reluctant to apologise
  • reluctant to admit
  • reluctant to speak

Incorrect:

  • reluctant weather
  • reluctant sunshine
  • reluctant happiness

Failure Mode:

  • student treats it as general synonym for “sad”

Repair:

  • force pairing with action verbs (reluctant to + VERB)

VI. PSLE Scene Bank (Forcing Natural Use)

Each scene requires 8–12 words naturally.

Scene 1 – Public Apology

Target Words:
reluctant, muttered, integrity, apologetic, uneasy, admitted, responsibility, resolved

Prompt:
You accidentally broke a classmate’s project. Write about what happened next.

Structural Constraint:

  • Paragraph 1: mistake + reaction
  • Paragraph 2: confrontation
  • Paragraph 3: resolution

Scene 2 – Heavy Rain Incident

Target Words:
drizzling, humid, hesitant, darted, collapsed, compassionate, grateful, reflected

Prompt:
You saw someone fall during a rainy afternoon. What did you do?

Scene 3 – Competition Pressure

Target Words:
overwhelmed, anxious, determined, whispered, gripped, persevered, realised, improved

Prompt:
Write about a time you almost gave up but didn’t.

These scenes prevent:

  • vocabulary dumping
  • unnatural insertion
  • tone mismatch

VII. Weekly Fence Loop (Operator Protocol)

Step 1 – Capture (Mon–Tue)

  • 10 words
  • define
  • write 1 correct sentence each

Step 2 – Collocation Encoding (Wed)

  • list 3 natural pairings per word
  • list 1 misuse trap

Step 3 – Micro Output (Thu)

  • 120-word scene using 6+ words

Step 4 – Timed Deployment (Sat)

  • 45-minute composition
  • must naturally use 8–10 words

Step 5 – Sensor Review (Sun)

Score Each Word:

  • Meaning correct? (Y/N)
  • Tone correct? (Y/N)
  • Collocation correct? (Y/N)
  • Forced or natural? (1–5)

Words below 3/5 → repeat next week.

VIII. Failure Modes (Observed in PSLE Students)

  1. Fancy Word Syndrome
  2. Synonym Misfire
  3. Tone Mismatch
  4. Forced Insertion
  5. Retrieval Collapse Under Time
  6. Passive Vocabulary Illusion

IX. Parent / Tutor Operator Panel

You are not testing memory.
You are testing deployment stability under load.

Look for:

  • awkward sentence rhythm
  • wrong emotional intensity
  • vocabulary clumping in one paragraph
  • silence under timed writing

If present → student is at Z1 only.

X. Phase Target Benchmarks

P0

  • memorises definitions only

P1

  • correct in isolated sentence

P2

  • usable in guided composition

P3

  • stable under time pressure
  • natural integration
  • tone aligned

PSLE Target = P3 at least 100–150 core words.

XI. Integration with FenceOS

Vocabulary failure is not a knowledge problem.
It is a control problem.

FenceOS ratios:

  • Retrieval Time vs Writing Time
  • Error Rate vs Output Volume
  • Tone Drift vs Narrative Stability

If drift detected:
→ reduce word set
→ increase repetition density
→ narrow scene type

XII. Why This Completes Vocabulary OS

Before:

  • conceptual series
  • theory
  • improvement advice

Now:

  • executable weekly loop
  • deployment scenes
  • measurable stability test
  • operator dashboard

Vocabulary OS now has:

  • Definition
  • Architecture
  • Instantiation
  • Control
  • Repair

It is no longer an article.
It is a system.
