June 2027 school calendar for Singapore families. The June holidays, the restart of Term III, the Polytechnic Early Admissions Exercise and Primary 1 registration for 2028.
June is the longest break in the middle of the year.
Four weeks with no school.
For most students, it is time to rest and repair. For Primary 6 and Secondary 4 students, it is the last long stretch before national examinations.
This guide is useful for families who need to:
- plan the June holidays week by week;
- prepare a Primary 6 student for the PSLE;
- prepare a Secondary 4 student for the SEC;
- understand the Polytechnic Early Admissions Exercise; or
- prepare for Primary 1 registration for 2028.
At eduKateSG, we treat June as the year’s main repair window.

Using the June Holidays Well
Week 1: Rest
Sleep in. Go outside. See family. Read for pleasure.
Week 2: Review Semester I
Go through marked assessments. List the topics that lost the most marks.
Week 3: Repair
Work on those topics in short, focused sessions. Aim to fix the method, not just finish the worksheet.
Week 4: Prepare
Preview Term III topics. Reset bedtimes before Monday 28 June.
For Primary 6: The Run-Up to the PSLE
In 2026, PSLE orals were held in mid-August, listening comprehension in mid-September and written papers in late September. SEAB publishes the 2027 timetable.
June priorities
- English: reading aloud, stimulus-based conversation practice and one composition a week;
- Mathematics: mixed problem sums, with full working;
- Science: open-ended answers that use the right keywords and explain cause and effect; and
- Mother Tongue: oral practice and regular reading.
See Primary 6 English Tuition for PSLE, Primary 6 Mathematics Tuition for PSLE and Primary 6 Science Tuition for PSLE.
For Secondary 4: The SEC Runway
English and Mother Tongue written papers come in September. Written papers for other subjects run from October to November. Oral, listening and practical components come before the written papers.
June priorities
- English: full timed papers and regular writing practice;
- Mathematics and Additional Mathematics: mixed papers across all topics;
- Mother Tongue: oral practice and writing; and
- an honest list of the three weakest topics in each subject.
For English, read SEC English Language G3 2027: The Complete Secondary 4 Examination Training System.
The Polytechnic Early Admissions Exercise
The Polytechnic Early Admissions Exercise lets students apply for polytechnic courses based on aptitude and interest, before their final results.
In 2026, secondary students could apply for up to three diploma courses through the Poly EAE portal.
Things to know
- successful applicants receive a conditional offer;
- they must still meet the admission criteria with their final results; and
- a student who accepts an offer is generally not eligible for other polytechnic admissions exercises.
The 2027 cohort is the first SEC cohort. Check eligibility details on MOE: Polytechnic Early Admissions Exercise.
Primary 1 Registration for 2028
The 2027 Primary 1 Registration Exercise is for children starting Primary 1 in 2028.
MOE has announced changes that take effect from this exercise:
- Phase 2C reserved places increase from 40 to 60 in all schools, except schools with a Primary 1 intake of fewer than 180 students; and
- a new Two-Track Scheme in Phase 2C begins in 12 schools, with places shared equally between children living within 2km and children living beyond 2km.
MOE will publish the 2027 dates. See MOE: Changes to the P1 Registration Framework.
Restarting Term III
Term III begins on Monday 28 June and runs until Friday 3 September.
It is often the most intense term of the year for Primary 6 and Secondary 4, with orals and preliminary examinations ahead.
