April 2027 School Calendar Singapore | Term 2, Exam Registration and Steady Revision

Three students sit around open books and worksheets at a classroom table, reading, writing and discussing the work together.

April 2027 school calendar for Singapore families. A full month of Term II, PSLE registration, DSA-Sec research and steady revision habits.

April 2027 has no public holidays.

It is one long, uninterrupted stretch of school.

That makes it one of the most productive months of the year, for students who use it well.

This guide is useful for families who need to:

  • check PSLE registration details;
  • start researching DSA-Sec options;
  • build a weekly revision rhythm; or
  • keep a student steady through a long term.

At eduKateSG, we call April the quiet month where the year is won.

Key Dates for April 2027

  • All of April: Term II, which runs from Monday 22 March to Friday 28 May.
  • No public holidays fall in April 2027.
  • Usually in April: Primary 6 pupils register for the PSLE through their schools. In 2026, PSLE registration ran from Tuesday 14 to Monday 27 April.
  • Usually early May: schools publish their DSA-Sec selection criteria and applications open. In 2026, MOE asked parents to check school websites from 5 May, and applications opened on Wednesday 6 May.

Dates are taken from MOE and SEAB as at October 2026. Tentative dates are marked. Please confirm with your child’s school and the official pages before making plans.

National Examination Registration

Students register for national examinations through their schools. SEAB sets the dates.

For Primary 6: PSLE registration

PSLE registration usually takes place in April.

  • check the student’s name, exactly as it should appear;
  • check each subject, including Standard or Foundation level; and
  • check the Mother Tongue subject.

For Secondary 4: the SEC record

Secondary 4 students usually register earlier in the year. In 2026, school candidates registered for the O-Level in early March. If anything on the record looks wrong, raise it with the school at once.

  • check every subject and its level: G1, G2 or G3;
  • check the subject combination; and
  • ask the school if anything is unclear.

The subjects and levels registered are the ones the student sits.

Mistakes are much easier to fix now than later.

DSA-Sec: Start Researching

Direct School Admission lets Primary 6 students apply to secondary schools based on talents and achievements, before the PSLE.

In 2026, applications ran from Wednesday 6 May to Tuesday 2 June. MOE will confirm the 2027 window.

What to do in April

  • list schools that offer the student’s talent area;
  • read each school’s selection criteria as soon as they are published;
  • gather certificates and records; and
  • talk honestly about whether the child wants that school.

Students still sit the PSLE. A student admitted through DSA-Sec does not take part in the Secondary 1 posting exercise. See MOE: Direct School Admission (DSA-Sec).

Building Steady Revision Habits

Long terms reward rhythm.

A student who revises a little, often, remembers far more than one who crams once.

A simple weekly rhythm

  • two or three short revision sessions of 30 to 45 minutes;
  • one mixed practice set per main subject;
  • one error review, going back to last week’s mistakes; and
  • one rest evening with no schoolwork.

Keep an error log

Write down each repeated mistake, the correct method and why the mistake happened.

Read it before every assessment.

What April Means at Each Level

Primary 1 to Primary 4

Keep daily reading going. Practise times tables and mental sums in short bursts.

Primary 5

This is the year that prepares for PSLE. Steady problem-solving and composition practice matter more than extra worksheets.

Primary 6

Registration, DSA research and steady revision. Composition, Mathematics problem sums and Science open-ended answers all need weekly practice. See Primary 6 Mathematics Tuition for PSLE.

Secondary 1 to Secondary 3

Weighted assessments in Term II. Revise each topic as it is taught, not just before the test.

Secondary 4

Full timed papers. English and Mother Tongue written papers come in September. See Secondary 4 English Tuition.

A Simple Plan for April

Week 1

Check PSLE or SEC registration details with the school.

Week 2

Set the weekly revision rhythm and start the error log.

Week 3

For Primary 6, shortlist DSA-Sec schools if relevant.

Week 4

Review the month. Is the rhythm holding? Adjust before May.

How eduKateSG Helps in April

In April, our classes focus on:

  • steady progress through Term II topics;
  • mixed practice so students learn to choose the right method;
  • error logs and targeted correction; and
  • timed practice for Primary 6 and Secondary 4.

Class Details

Format: Premium 3-pax small-group tutorials

Levels: Primary 1 to Primary 6, and Secondary 1 to Secondary 4

Subjects: Primary English, Mathematics and Science; Secondary English, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics

Subject levels: G1, G2 and G3 support for secondary students, according to readiness and school programme

Duration: 1.5 hours weekly

Teaching approach:

  • diagnosis before teaching;
  • first-principles explanation;
  • guided and independent practice;
  • retrieval and mixed revision;
  • error analysis; and
  • alignment with school assessments and national examinations.

Limited trial lessons may occasionally be available when the 3-pax class configuration permits. The usual first step is a parent–student consultation.

What Parents Can Bring to the Consultation

Useful materials include:

  • recent test papers and weighted assessments;
  • the latest report book;
  • marked homework;
  • the school’s assessment schedule; and
  • examples of questions the student finds difficult.

We are not only looking at the score.

We are looking for patterns.
