March 2027 School Calendar Singapore | Hari Raya Puasa, March Holidays and Term 1 Review

Three students studying together with open books and worksheets in a classroom.

March 2027 school calendar for Singapore families. Hari Raya Puasa, the end of Term I, the March holidays, the start of Term II and Good Friday.

March is the first checkpoint of the year.

Term I ends. The first results are in. A nine-day break follows.

It is the right moment to look back honestly and adjust before Term II.

This guide is useful for families who need to:

  • plan the March holidays;
  • read Term I results for patterns;
  • prepare for what Term II brings at each level; or
  • decide whether a child needs extra support.

At eduKateSG, we treat the end of Term I as a review point. It is early enough to change direction.

Hari Raya Puasa and the End of Term I

Hari Raya Puasa falls on Wednesday 10 March, two days before Term I ends.

For many families, that means a busy final week of term. Keep the schedule simple. Rest and celebration come first.

The March Holidays: Nine Days

The March holidays run from Saturday 13 to Sunday 21 March.

Nine days is enough for rest and for a small amount of useful work.

A simple split

  • three days of real rest;
  • three days of short review sessions on Term I topics; and
  • three days to preview Term II and reset the routine.

An hour a day on study days is plenty for most students.

Term I Review: What the First Term Shows

By now, most students have had at least one weighted assessment and plenty of marked homework.

Questions worth asking

  • Which subject is strongest, and which is weakest?
  • Is the weak subject weak in every topic, or only in one or two?
  • Are mistakes about understanding, or about care and accuracy?
  • Does the child finish work on time?
  • Has confidence gone up or down since January?

Write the answers down. They become the plan for Term II.

What Term II Brings at Each Level

Primary 1 and Primary 2

Reading, number sense and routine. Daily reading remains the most useful habit.

Primary 3 and Primary 4

Science and Mathematics build on Term I quickly. Gaps in multiplication and fractions start to slow problem-solving.

Primary 5

Longer problem sums and more demanding Science applications. Steady practice beats last-minute drilling.

Primary 6

PSLE orals usually take place in August. Start reading aloud regularly now. Composition and problem-solving need steady weekly practice.

Secondary 1 and Secondary 2

Algebra deepens. Students who are unsure about expansion and simplifying expressions need help before Term II moves on.

Secondary 3

Additional Mathematics and the sciences become more demanding. Weaknesses in algebra show up across subjects.

Secondary 4

About six months remain before the SEC English and Mother Tongue written papers in September. Oral and listening components come earlier. Check every subject and level on the SEC registration record with the school. Term II is the time to build exam stamina.

A Simple Plan for the March Holidays

Days 1 to 3: Rest

No worksheets. Outdoor time, family time and sleep.

Days 4 to 6: Review

Redo one or two marked assessments. Fix the errors properly, with full working.

Days 7 to 9: Prepare

Look at the first Term II topics. Reset bedtime before Monday 22 March.

How eduKateSG Helps in March

March is a good time for a consultation. There is enough evidence to diagnose, and enough time left to act.

We:

  • review Term I scripts with the student;
  • separate concept gaps from accuracy problems;
  • plan Term II around the school’s topic order; and
  • for Secondary 4, set an SEC revision timeline.

Class Details

Format: Premium 3-pax small-group tutorials

Levels: Primary 1 to Primary 6, and Secondary 1 to Secondary 4

Subjects: Primary English, Mathematics and Science; Secondary English, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics

Subject levels: G1, G2 and G3 support for secondary students, according to readiness and school programme

Teaching approach:

  • diagnosis before teaching;
  • first-principles explanation;
  • guided and independent practice;
  • retrieval and mixed revision;
  • error analysis; and
  • alignment with school assessments and national examinations.

Limited trial lessons may occasionally be available when the 3-pax class configuration permits. The usual first step is a parent–student consultation.

What Parents Can Bring to the Consultation

Useful materials include:

  • recent test papers and weighted assessments;
  • the latest report book;
  • marked homework;
  • the school’s assessment schedule; and
  • examples of questions the student finds difficult.

We are not only looking at the score.

We are looking for patterns.
